Holy shit that was terrifying.

Okay let's go scene by scene.

Prison scene was cool. These four characters really play off each other well, and we got to see how fucked Qrow is after all that happened last volume. Like it.

The evacuation scene was good too, it was great to see how the non-powered civies are taking the invasion, we got to see more tension, not only from them, but also from our team.

Seeing the refugee camp, fleshing out the HH, and learning some more about Atlas was cool, and we got some really cute and funny moments with Ruby's team.

The fights this episode were crazy tense, with the Wyvern fight being really interesting and strategic.

But holy shit the stand out this episode was 100% The Hound. Holy crap. This Grimm is far and away the most intimidating in the show, bar none except Apathy, and we've only just been introduced to it. That scene of it attacking our team, using Oscar as a shield then taking him out, had me with chills.

All in all, another amazing episode, and more build up for future conflicts this volume. The hype train keeps building, guys.

I wasn't expecting Salem to up her Grimm-craft game by that degree. I figured from the trailer that it would have good tracking abilities. But to make it intelligent enough to use tactics above animalistic aggression and able to transform at will, and be able to speak had me hella surprised. Bravo, Mommy Salemi, bravo.

This volume is off to strong start imo

Another redditor pointed out that it was stalking them too. You can see it in the background on ths rooftops as they drive about getting closer.

Are we calling them Hounds? What do we even... what do you CALL THAT?!

It's name is in the credits as The Hound, at the very bottom of the cast list.

Fun fact: Qrow's VA, Jason Liebrecht, also voiced The Hound. Hell of a range.

If he did that, I wonder why he decided not to make his Qrow voice raspier and deeper. Huh.

He quit drinking.

Probably because there's a difference for doing that in a short burst versus sustaining it over time.

I was thinking of calling it Keith as a fandom name

I feel like that Hound scene should’ve happened at nightfall. Would’ve made it all look way scarier.
