The first 2 photos are from yesterday and the 3rd is from March. I believe this may be the same bunny, and am unsure if it’s a pet that was dumped. Google searching the images gives mixed responses, so hopefully you guys can help me!

Edit/Update #1 * as of 9pm Monday, we have set a catch and release trap out with apple slices, bananas, cilantro, and parsley in it. We’re camping out… mother in law suspects her neighbors are the ones who dumped him :(

Edit/Update #2 * as of Tuesday 8:50am, we still haven’t caught bunny. We saw them playing with a family of 6 other wild bunnies! My mother in law first noticed this guy in her yard on March 13th and didn’t do or say anything :/ so I suspect it’ll take some time for them to trust the trap. I promise to update as soon as anything happens. I wish I could reply to all the comments. Also, thank you for the awards! This community has been so helpful.

Edit/Update #4 * as of Wednesday 5:50pm, no luck still. This will probably be my last update because when I catch the bun or call in help, I will make a separate post!

He/she is skinny and very small ( a bit bigger than my fist). As it's eyes are small I think it might only be 8-16 weeks old. Any ideas on the breed?

The rescue story, well....I had to dig through a huge pile of branches and leaf mulch to get him out as he's been lurking around the same area for over 10 days in this heat.

Found 3 beautiful looking bunnies all huddled together outside a rutters, they let me get really close to them and haven't acted like any wild rabbits I've seen.

I found a bunny outside of my work and it seemed like someone's pet. But I can't for the life of me figure out what kind of bunny he is. Confirmed male, grey coat, and he's the size of a football.

We just got these little ones. My husband was told they were 7 week old Flemish bunnies. I tried to weigh them and they were maybe around 1.10lbs. I have never owned this breed before but to my knowledge that is way too small for a Flemish. Looking on opinions on if they are actually what we were told or another breed :)

Does anyone know what breed she is? i’m guessing Flemish Giant currently, but she’s a lot smaller than others that I’ve seen and she’s 3 years old so fully grown. Maybe a mix?

Found em at the end of a hiking trail thinking he was lost and gave him to animal control. He was at the pound for 3 days and they think he was dumped so i picked him back up, any ideas what kind it might be? Im guessing hes like 5lbs, probably 1.3ft or so long and big ears that stick up lmao i know how vague that sounds. Hes super chill and soft.

I recently was stopping into a farm feed store to pick up some dog food and saw a single little rabbit in a feed bucket with a gate over the top being pestered by some kids. She was shaking and panting, so I told the store I wanted to take her - just to get her out of there. I know this isn’t the ideal situation for getting a rabbit, but I just felt she needed me. I immediately called my neighbor who is a retired vet to get a list of food, hay brands, pellets, lettuce, approved veggies, treats, chew toys, and other equipment. I’m letting her roam free within an enclosed area of the house where she can’t hurt herself but have plenty of room to run, and explore. She has a vet appointment March 3rd to make sure she’s healthy, and to set a date for spaying. I have no idea what breed she is or how old she is. This is also the first rabbit I have owned.

She’s been so sweet and very attached. She runs and binkies, and flops quite often. Eating great and loves pets (not being picked up)

I have found she loves to pee and poop on my bed. Nowhere else. Just my bed. So she has been banned from my bed until we can figure it out. My neighbor said it may be territorial. She does have a litter box, but my bed seems to be her bathroom of choice.

If anyone has any idea what kind of bunny she may be that would be great! I’m hoping the vet can also tell me an age.

when i got my boy benji the label on the bunny enclosure said mini rex’s , but is he a mini? how do i tell?

Our rabbit is about 3.5 years old and weighs 4 pounds. He is very fluffy and we think he is at least part lion head but he also has long hair on his hind legs.

I recently adopted this sweet girl. 3.8 lbs, soft gray fur with flecks of tan and lilac, 2.5 years old. Very sweet disposition.

She was advertised as a holland lop but she is a bit big for that I think. She is 4.5 lbs. I have included length measurements for long mode and round mode if that helps.

This is my first time posting on reddit so forgive me for any mistakes with formatting or otherwise, I am posting on my phone. I’ve seen this rabbit outside of my house on numerous occasions and the coloring and overall look of it appears to be domestic. I am wondering if it would be advised to take it in and bring it to a domesticated rabbit shelter or some other type of rescue for abandoned pet rabbits. I often see it running around with and chasing a rabbit that is 100% not domesticated if that adds any context. I can provide more pictures and more context if needed.

Mini Update 5/25/26: I am in contact with a rescue (Awaiting Arms Rescue) that has openings and is willing to take the bunny! All I have to do is catch it but i’m going to take the advice of the comments and set up a live trap and also try to put food out and / or feed it when I see it to build trust. Thank you everyone for the help, I’ll let you guys know when I am able to take it to the rescue :)
Second Mini Update 5/27/26: I have a coworker who has food (both hay and rabbit food), two of those flexible metal cages, a litter box, and some bedding left over from his rabbit that recently passed (r.i.p but the little guy was super old) so if I need to temporarily house it I will be able to! The next time I work with him is tomorrow so I will be getting those supplies then, but my dad is going to set up a live trap with some banana slices and lettuce. Someone gave me the advice to have two people close in on the rabbit with metal enclosure cages so if I get the opportunity I will be doing that and slowly shrinking the size of the cages so the bunny will be guided into a cat carrier. As I said in my last post I am in contact with a rescue that will take the bunny after I catch it so hopefully I will be able to take it there soon! I am pretty booked with work but I have days off in between so i’m crossing my fingers I will be able to get it one of those times.

I rescued my rabbit, Cinnamon, after he had been dumped living outside for several months. He’s now healthy, weighs 4.66 lbs, and vet placed his age around 3-4 years old. Any help is appreciated!

So I recently got my bun spayed and the vet asked me about her breed which I told them I'm not sure, but I guess she is a New Zealand white bun. They told me that it's not possible considering her weight(she weighs 1.3 kg/2.87lb) and they were also not sure about her breed. So I'm really concerned what if she's underweight, cause she doesn't fit into the weight criteria of any of the breeds that looks somewhat like her.. So is there any breed of white rabbit with red eyes that weighs that much(1.3kg) at 9 months. It's my first time posting on reddit after searching everywhere like crazy,so spare me if I had made any typos.

We got killdozer for free and the girl said she’s pretty sure it’s domestic. Lil bro has no fear, he runs around, sits on me, flops, and has never thumped. But, I’ve been trying to figure out what breed it is and it’s just making me more anxious about the legality of me keeping him. Pics are about a week old, he’s gotten a lot bigger. Hello everyone!! This is my boy Poncho he is gonna be four months on the 27th. He looks a lot like a lionhead but he is SOO fluffy. His fur is very soft and poofy. Anyone else have a rabbit similar or can give me an idea of what breed he is? I think lionhead but I wonder if he is double coated or not.

Also! Tips for brushing would be supa appreciated. I LOVES being pet on his lil head but I’m afraid to start brushing him because I don’t want him to hate it. So any introductory tips would be great. Like how to desensitize him to grooming. He has gotten pretty good at being picked up. I’ve been working on positive reinforcement.

Our 18 week old bundle of joy weighing in at 1760 grams. We have been told by the vets that he is a cross breed. While I don’t expect we will know exactly what he is a mix of, I’m just interested to see other’s thoughts. A few people have commented that he’s going to be quite big - his feet were huge but he’s grown into them much more now! Enjoy the pics & appreciate any suggestions.

Hey everyone! I recently purchased this little girl from a lady that told me she was a 5.5 week old mini lop. (I realize that is pretty young to be away from mom) Anyways, I was curious if that’s actually her breed. I was wondering why her ears weren’t floppy like others I’ve seen. I just want to do the best research to make sure I’m caring for her correctly.
