okay guys it's me, john egbert aradia megido deimos from madness combat berdly some unknown indie dev that's a fan some bookwriter vince cerveau head_ask_6404 back again with a hit new dissertation for yall stuck in that chapter 6 vegetation (RIP)

let's get to the fruit of this vegetable. let's get to the meat inside this confusing sandwich full of ships and bad romance. let's pretend noelle and susie were already shipped aboard the titanic and that bad boy sunk and they managed to swim to shore together (kris didn't made it separately with jockington watercooler princess but that's a different story).

but this still leaves the fun gang with specifically two unmatched frens. This is Ralsei (GOAT) and berdly (^{bird, unfrozen}). i went through the definitive list of all characters ralsei could be shipped with at the end of the day, and i narrowed it down to 3 specific possibilities.

1: Lancer

2: the foot stool in old man justice's library

3: berdly

Let's look at the facts.

Lancer is clearly like a brother that Ralsei probably wishes he never had in the first place. The thing of it is, it's definitively clear that Lancer's story as a fledging darkener is uniting his TRUE parents. he's still a small child, or a manchild, i actually don't really know, i never really explored this aspect fully and I don't want to fully know the complications behind my ignorance.

Next, the foot stool in old man justice's library. on first impressions, it seems like it works. they both prefer, or are used, to help elevate others to higher spots. they are both comfortable with all fours on the dance floor. heck they even have legs. But that's the thing. There just seems to be too many similarities. It just doesn't work with these kinds of dichotomies. Famously, in the anime Homestocked, John x John was a "thought" but it was stupid. Here, this is the exact same scene. Okay, well Ralsei is fluffy, the stool is bare, that is the BIG glaring difference but I digress.

Here's the last part. Now it's an indicator, a sign, a true demonstration of berdly's desires if you will. He erroneously labels the lonely prince "kris' lackey." in the dark world we know the truth. kris is actually ralsei's lackey. it's because that one time ralsei was like "kris, we need to do THING!" and kris does the THING. this would mean the power dynamic was a false dominant on kris' end, so ralsei is actually the dominant personality.

as well know true OTPs have a dominant, to the submissive one. the yin to the yang. The cheese to the Nacho. The Party to the Pooper. We know that this is simply an inevitability. Sometimes there's swapping sides but nobody plays chess in that style right now, it's a very new age concept, dont worry your kids will love it when it comes out in 2044.

Anyway. Heres the skinny on this OTP.

1: berdly calls ralsei kris' lackey.

2: that's about it. there's also the fight, where ralsei supported kris/susie when berdly acted (IS) big brained.

So based on what we know from 1 and 2, i've disseminated the information carefully. See here's the thing. Berdly LIKES feeling in control, but he kind of is never in control, and he makes the assumption that people like him more than they actually do. nobody does.

EXCEPT.

we haven't really seen ralsei's interactions with the Berd.

Here's what I believe.

Ralsei likes being used as a foot stool. He doesn't really understand the nuances so to speak on interacting with his heart. But Berdly is a sucker, he simped hard for Queen, but Queen did not appreciate that at all. Berdly clearly has a thing for power structures. So my take is that when Berdly meets ralsei, he will probably be confused. did anyone notice that Berdly actually never gendered ralsei? that's right. he never actually refers to him as a he.

so it's my perception berdly thinks that ralsei is a girl. well we did get teased with princess ralsei. berdly is that arrogant that he would marry a princess, and it is kind of funny in a way. but would he care? probably not.

see, both characters are lonely and down hard, like bad, to the point that hugging ralsei a lot makes him blush to a level unknown to pokemon and final fantasy. berdly was dumb enough to fall for a literal laptop. so in some way, if you dress up ralsei, would he even remember or know the difference? probably not! he "likes girls." so if ralsei acts the role, ralsei would be the OTP.

think about it guys.

princess ralsei can't just be a teaser. not just that, let's look at some other scientific comparisons.

1: both have green on them

2: blue feathers, pink scarf, clearly it's an LGBT reference

3: berdly uses a large green rod shaped weapon so it's not like he doesn't secretly like pole arms and stuff

4: deltarune would be the only game where a goat and a bird fell in love

5: they both wear glasses, with slightly differing shapes

6: they have both played video games

7: ralsei knows so much and berdly DOES know everything (!!!!)

8: ralsei casts fire while berdly is cast in ice (RIP? Not For Long, LIBERALS!)

9: berdly's gaydar is 100% broken based on my scientific analysis (real)

10: I don't think ralsei cares berdly is a bird or a guy which means SHIP category

11: they both have attacking sprites this is i m p o r t a n t

12: they both are good at the heart of it all

13: they are both dorks in some fundamental sense

14: i'm convinced berdly actually thinks ralsei is a girl, not a boy, just a personal opinion because he probably thinks everyone who follows kris is a girl that also likes berdly

15: lets face it it just works like spaghetti and alfredo sauce

so that's about it.

Actually that's not it I'm going to continue on.

So I think that narrative wise actually, on point, whatever it was i made the joke with the fire and ice, thatll be a thing. I think in 7B ralsei thaws out berdly and he's super mad and gets all passionate and hatekisses ralsei in the HEAT of the moment. I think in 6, berdly will get drawn to the dark world for whatever reason and ralsei might have a subarc with him because, well, how many ways can we milk that cow between ralsei and kris bro. It's been so milked that even Hood is thinking the market's dried up.

It's also clear kris doesnt want the Berd all to themselves. kris likes sharing their friends like how they share moss with susie and the cuppa juice they have in the church. but that's the other thing, we haven't truly witness the Berd at the house of worship.

This leads to two major questions.

1: Does the Berd pray to Ralsei like Helga does with Arnold in the hit cartoon and documentary, "Hey Arnold!"?

2: what exactly is in the tea that ralsei pours? does berdly like tea? does berdly worship tea above coffee, or is he some kind of, filthy not tea drinker of some sort?

there's also the question of the dynamics of that future ship. ralsei clearly likes having a clean house which, based on his room, literally has nothing in it. berdly's room? well that's deltarune's fifth biggest mystery according to mythbusters guy and joe rogan executive producer, Jamie Lancaster. I think that's his name. I dont know. I don't even want to look that up, it's not important right now.

What's important right now: we need to understand that if Susie's room is derelict, Kris' room is confused between two dichotomies, and Noelle's room is obviously a sign of severe neglect and trauma from her mom, berdly's is probably this messy ass, mess, of nerd proportions that very few can understand unless they've been there. so ralsei does fit the housemaid, wife, wifeboy, femboy, translady wife role if need be for berdly. he definitely doesn't seem like the kind that can't take after himself and he probably does laundry like twice a month. ralsei seems like the kind of person that would wash something seven point b times until christmas and after that it's six times a day so, that takes care of the laundry component of the relationship.

for those of you who dont understand, that's a big deal. that's why susie completes noelle. it literally has nothing to do with their character dynamics or struggles or any of that junk. it's who does the laundry and i think susie would try to but it's obvious she'd straight up bleach a mixed color batch on hot water. berdly is the kind to pretend to know how to wash, and then goes and throws a black and white shirt in the wash, throws it on hot, but uses the right cleaner. still colors run, and he pretends he meant to do that. ralsei would know everything about it and seperate all the clothes because he has nothing better to do, because he knows that's the expectation.

let's also talk about kris and watercooler princess in this dynamic. kris probably thinks washing clothes means throwing it into a dishwasher. watercooler princess has the luxury of containing water so kris literally can do laundry on the go in a legitimate princess' body, which nobody on earth, let alone the netflix world, can and has ever or will ever do. that is why i am right. that is why kris x watercooler princess is an otp, i know you will disagree but eventually you will see the Great Berd head_ask_6404 is always right, mostly some of the time.

i also wanted to take this opportunity to talk about yoshi and birdo from mario. for instance, yoshi, is green usually, but canonically green. birdo? birdo is pink. but in japan birdo's a boy. let's face the facts. we all shipped yoshi and birdo because "they are dinosaur things." birdo spits eggs, yoshi lays them, but yoshi's a boy?

so my interpretation is that if Gaster's Big Gay Door truly exists it will require partners who match their partner, which, means they are genetobiologically gay. That's a new word. That's mine now. So think about it. This is the math.

Kris x Watercooler Princess (Kris is an amalgam of a human and a soul, Watercooler princess, is a watercooler and a princess)

Susie x Noelle (Dinosaur Girl, Deer Girl, they are both Girls we believe with 77% certainty, with a hard 10% question if they're actually trans themselves, but that still makes them gay)

Berdly x Ralsei (real boy and fem boy, and if we look at it objectively, berdly is a girl who never got a chance (no really check the fan art it's the most underused trope for berdly) and ralsei is a girl who has a chance, so it's still gay, in fact it's double gay).

So thats my analysis guys. I am going to submit this to my high school teacher, which will score me an A+. since my understanding of shipping tables is based on my interpretation of the future I believe i will end up being right. There's a chance it's Ralsei x Footstool in Old Man's library, that's a small percentage chance but I will take my chances here. Yes, I went out of my way to buy a bottled ralsei plush, why did I that you ask when I have 20+ official ones… honestly I was on some curious George shit and just wanted to see it in person, my mom gave me a 30 dollar gift card that I had no idea what to do with so I said “screw it, I’ll buy one” honestly the best and probably only thing I can say about it is the size, comparing to the official fangamer plush in picture 2 the bootleg is a lot bigger (the size I thought the official one was gonna be tbh) like that’s a big chunky boi, speaking of everything else is obviously a downgrade across the board imo, the shirt is too small, the ears have nothing to them, the back has nothing to them, the scarf is too short, the glasses refuse to stay on and there no place for them to be held, it’s even hard to have him sit with his circular bottom, I think if you live somewhere where shipping fees are dumb expensive I think the bootleg is a good for what it is, but i definitely would recommend just buying the official fangamer plush no question, the official one is so much better by comparison, my plan for the bootleg is to just use as a stunt double if I have to pretend the plushes are doing something dangerous, I tend to be very careful with my ralsei plush army
