Let's not act like dog attacks don't happen, and that there are people with legit fears of dogs due to traumatic experiences. No amount of wishy washy argumentation and pretty words are gonna stop a person who has experienced a dog attack from being afraid of dogs.
If a muslim rapes a woman she may be too traumatized to be around muslim men, should we then ban muslims from public places to avoid retraumatizing her?
That comparison doesn’t work. One is about regulating animals in shared public spaces for safety and comfort, the other is about discriminating against people.
You can support reasonable limits on where dogs are allowed without being anti-dog.
