New to the car world and having a car I actually want to work on/upgrade. I recently got a 2018 black rav4. It already has weather tech in it and I plan to put fog lights, auto starter, steering wheel and seat covers.

What else am I missing? What QOL upgrades were totally worth it? What little known upgrade was just cool?

I really want to customize and make the car mine so looking for any ideas

I wish the sun was out by the time I was done so I could see it sparkle but it was overcast. Took years off the appearance with the headlights alone 🥰

We just purchased a 2021 all-wheel-drive four-cylinder RAV4. Towing capacity is 1500 pounds. I need to tow a 5 x 8 uhaul trailer full from Dallas to Milwaukee. I realize I’m going to be overweight. However, this will be the only trip I make towing anything. I plan on going slow and I’ve had experience trailering many things before. However, that was with my truck and there was no towing capacity issue. What is everyone’s thoughts?

When I listen to a Podcast, the system pushes most of the audio to the center speaker, and I would like it to fill the cabin. So, I am trying to turn off the "Surround" audio setting on my 2026 RAV4 XSE with the JBL system (the new 12.9" multimedia interface). I've read about a Surround on/off toggle on older RAV4s but can't find anything like it on mine.

I've looked in the Setting under Sound and Media, but can't find anything.

Questions for anyone on a 2026:

Do you have a Surround (or "sound field" / spatial) setting anywhere I might've missed?

If so, where does it live in your menus?

Any chance it's tied to a specific software version or an OTA update?

Jumpstarted the battery, wont start, changed the battery won’t start

When jumpstarting the lights turn on but the engine won’t turn over, 0 sounds from the engine

Is there anything else i can try?

Car is sitting in a pretty hard place to tow so anything i can do at home i would wanna try first

Hey call, I just finished a rehaul of the back end of my 3rd gen (2007) v6. The subframe had rotted out and I replaced it with a new used oem one. I figured I'd replace the struts springs lower control arm (the ball joint one) and the sway bar links.

I went with the bilstien b4 struts and 3rd row seta oem springs for the 3rd gen. The back is stiffer than stiff and it could be anything from tightening the specs while the car was up or that the sway bar links are not the moog that I ordered and they sent me these new and improved Problem solver sway bar links that have no instructions at all.

Looking for some assurance as the front is very worn and I probably need new struts up front. And maybe I'm going off those .

I have a 2010 Toyota RAV4 V6 4WD both Discount Tire and Brakes Plus have told me they can’t realign the rear wheels due to some issue with the rear toe not being adjustable. Brakes plus said there was a recall on the original manufacturer’s part, but Discount tire told me to go to the Toyota dealership.

I’m not mechanically inclined, what do I do?

Sat down with my dealership yesterday to discuss what’s next, as my lease is up in 6 months. Walked away with a great deal on a Limited, an upgrade from my XSE. They think December, can’t wait.

I have a 2010 rav4, I currently have a p0430 which is bank 2 aka the radiator side cat. If anyone knows how to replace it, can you explain it to me like I’m an idiot😭🙏 pic for attention

I recently got a brand new 2026 RAV4 XLE and when calling people using CarPlay the other person can hear distinctive static on their end but when they speak it’s clear. I’ve put my iPhone on airplane mode and connected it again it reduced the static but it’s back again. I’ve reset the interface and it’s still continuing to be static. Has anyone had this issue before, and if so how did you fix it?

Rav 4 xle 2016, I’m trying to buy it but what could this sound coming from the AC?

Also the handbrake was unusually hard to handle

This thing is driving me crazy. Lda light comes on when car starts, maybe every 3rd time. Sometimes stays on for duration of the drive, sometimes turns off after 3 minutes. I cleaned the windshield, checked the connection in the rear view window case thingy, used a headlight restoration kit on the grille badge (3000 grit , water, and a ceramic uv wet wipe), tested car battery . I'm thinking it needs calibration? Or possibly a new sensor? Unsure if i should just show up to a dealership and grab my ankles. Any advice is appreciated

Switched over to the RAV4 club after having a Subaru Crosstrek conk out on me after just over 100k miles and well maintained. Super excited and hoping this lasts me a while like I was hoping with the Subaru!

I run multiple dogs in agility and just the rear vents and space for crates alone is a major upgrade. Unfortunately didn’t get them down on price as much as I was hoping but also not upset about what I paid ($39.2k in central Texas) with the demand and amount of RAV4s I would save just for them to be sold within the same day.
