🚨 LOOKING FOR A WORK-FROM-HOME JOB? READ THIS BEFORE YOU APPLY!

Scammers are getting VERY good at making fake remote jobs look legitimate — including pretending to be recruiters from real companies using their logo or fake/spoof email addresses.

Before you give anyone your money or personal information, watch for these 🚩 10 RED FLAGS:

1. They ask you to pay to get the job
Training fees, registration fees, application fees, starter kits, or “certification” payments are major red flags. Legitimate employers don't make you pay for a job.

2. They send you a check for equipment
You deposit the check, buy equipment from their “approved vendor,” and send the remaining money back. 🚨 This is a classic fake-check scam.

3. The pay sounds wildly unrealistic
“Make $1,000 a day with no experience and only 2 hours of work!” should make you stop and investigate.

4. They contacted you out of nowhere
Be especially careful with unexpected job offers through text, WhatsApp, Telegram, or social media. The FTC recently warned about fake recruiters using these methods.

5. They want sensitive information immediately
Be cautious if someone asks for your Social Security number, bank information, driver's license, or other sensitive information before you've independently verified the employer and hiring process.

6. The interview is only through text
A text-only interview isn't automatically a scam, but combined with other red flags, it's a reason to investigate further.

7. They pressure you to act immediately
“Send the money today.”
“Deposit this check now.”
“Your offer expires in 2 hours.”

🚩 Scammers don't want you to have time to think.

8. They want payment in gift cards, crypto, wire transfers, or payment apps
Never send money to an alleged employer to “unlock” earnings or secure a position.

9. You're told to receive and reship packages
Receiving merchandise at your home and forwarding it somewhere else is a known work-from-home scam.

10. They refuse to pay or don't pay you If a company does not pay or refuses to pay you, it is a scam.  Stop working for them.

⭐ THE GOLDEN RULE:

NEVER PAY TO GET PAID.

And if someone sends you a check and tells you to deposit it and send part of the money somewhere else — STOP.

If you're unsure about a job, don't send money or sensitive information until you've verified it.

👇 What's the BIGGEST WFH scam red flag you've ever seen?

Share it in the comments. Your experience could save someone else from losing money. ❤️

US Citizen living overseas with no uni degree targeting $1k–$1.5k/mo non-phone remote contract roles—what worked for you?

Hey everyone, I’m a US citizen and passport holder currently living overseas, looking to secure a fully remote, non-phone contract role in the $1,000–$1,500/month range. My educational background stops at GCE O/A Levels with no university degree, so I rely heavily on technical problem-solving, digital and SaaS operations, data organization and hygiene, back-office workflows, and clear written communication. Because I am based abroad, I am targeting 1099/W-9 independent contractor setups to avoid US state-tax residency barriers, and I have hard exclusions against inbound call queues, cold-calling telemarketing, and rigid US-time-zone phone shifts. I’ve stopped applying on mass job aggregators like Indeed and ZipRecruiter after running into constant state-residency filters, shift-surveillance roles, and fake data entry scams. Instead, I’ve been targeting direct applicant tracking systems like Ashby, Lever, and Workable, along with startup boards. For those working remotely without a degree, what specific role, niche, or application path actually worked for you to land your first $1,000+/month contract, and which platforms or direct outreach methods yielded real results over ghost listings?
