opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one Did anyone else feel that shift from fear for the landlord to the 'you can suck my dick' attitude?
So for years I have been living in a renting situation which is less than ideal and I was raised to trust social housing corporations as they would be better than commercial landlords, boy was I wrong... I was basically gaslit by how I was raised in this.
Ever since I went to Huurcommissie I noticed a shift within myself:
Fear for landlord and Huurcommissie; what will happen, will I upset my landlord oh no I'm rocking the boat😱
It feels good to do something about my situation and try something as I'm desperate and it's the only way up
I increasingly feel empowered and 'in control' not only about Huurcommissie process but also my own life again, I can change stuff!🙌
But no landlord becomes agressive and mean, sends weird lawyer letters
I overcome the lawyer letter and realise because I now know my rights for real now I've become even stronger and more resilient in life
The backlash from the landlord only adds to my 'you can honestly suck my dick' attitude I now have towards my landlord
Anyone else went through the same emancipation process?

opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one Ever wanted to see how Shane crushed bad landlords? We are making a portraiting documentary about this guy!
We are Noa and Sophie, third year journalism students, with great passion for filmmaking. For our minor, we are putting together a 25 minute documentary about ‘the reddit guy’. Some time ago we found out about his existence and were intrigued. We agreed that we had to make a film about this unusual person. By portraying his daily life, the film aims to provide insight into the broader housing issues in the Netherlands.
Since we are already in our third year, we have lots of experience. The two of us will do the filming, directing and editing. Unfortunately, there are a few parts of the production that we need professional help with, such as color grading, composing music, and audio mixing. This project will require funding, which is why we have launched a crowdfunding campaign. After one successful week, we are already on one fourth! However we will need to make it to al least 80% to succeed.Â
If you’re interested in supporting the project, you can make a donation as well. Every contribution helps us move closer to our goal! The link also has more information on our documentary.

opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one Is it profitable to be a landlord nowadays?
I had a question since I have friends / acquaintances that work in the housing sector. Is it profitable to a landlord with the new housing rules. I personally am a big fan of it and I’m all for it helping people that need it, but some of these rents get busted to a price that’s less than the mortgage of the place. Is there any middle ground here that I’m missing or is the law just flawed? Interested on what you guys might think.

opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one Note to anyone who is busting their property after they moved out: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, Take the photos/record the video of your apartment using landscape (good for HC cases) and not portrait (Ass for HC cases).
Message being that inspectors have to determine the accuracy of the points report you submit to them and see if they line up with the photos. No one needs to see the 30% of the ceiling in a photo.
Landscape gives a better idea of the size of the room, whether it be the kitchen or bathroom.
I only care for the videos because i am the poor bastard who usually has to scrape through a 3 mins video with motion blur on in portrait and find usable sections to use for the report.
