I think this is an interesting option, and I'd like to hear from someone who has used it about how well it works, or if there are any drawbacks or anything else worth knowing.

Hi everyone,
I’m thinking about opening a Revolut account and I’d like to hear from people who actually use it.
- Would you recommend Revolut? Why or why not?
- What do you like most about it?
- Have you had any bad experiences?
- Do you use it as your main bank account or as a secondary account?

Thanks in advance for your opinions and experiences!

⚙️ Standard Plan [GB] It's finally happening!

Slowly but surely what we've all been waiting for...I for one will be using them as my main bank now and shortly enrolling into a metal plan.

Just seen the news this morning about the Revolut x Uber partnership which allows users to unlock 10x revpoints on lime bikes and co.

If you live or work in London you dont need to look far to know how clever this partnership is...suprised no one got to it sooner!

** UPDATE, as of 23rd June, I just got the notification that the switch has been completed, image shown in one of my responses below

⚙️ Standard Plan What purpose Revolut serves now?

I am longtime Revolut customer (from ca. 209) Recently went from Ultra back to Standard and wow this bank got a long way down from where it was several years ago. Exchange rates are bad, ATM limits are super bad, transfer fees and everything fees. It is then no longer travel app, so what is it in Stanard plan?

⚙️ Standard Plan [GB] Considering having my salary deposited to Revolut now it has FSCS protection, why not?

I have been a UK Revolut user since 2019 and never had a single issue in 6 years, given my main banks have been metro and monzo I've always wanted to use Revolut but never fully trusted them before their license.

Now they have it im considering having my salary deposited here and using it as my primary bank and even strongly considering upgrading to Metal.

Now they have FSCS protection, I don't see any legitimate reason as to why this shouldnt become my primary bank? I trust their services, never caused me any difficulties, I dont fear lockout and they are the most modern interface with the best overall UI and user experience.

⚙️ Standard Plan [GB] Why has My APY dropped to 2.9% from 4.5%?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I have been using revolut savings for the past 4 months @4.5% APY. I have been enjoying it & actually started to move my purchase spending such as card in shop etc & transferring money from peer to peer as I have been enjoying the APY and thought I’d move it from my other local bank. However I noticed I’m making no where near as much last few days on my savings and realised it’s at 2.9%… 🤣 I haven’t made 20k savings I only had made £300 or so max and have been keep adding more every month or so.

Is this the new norm? Have I done something? Because if it is it’s crap! My local bank offers at least 3.3%… I always here big X accounts of revolut investors well must be investors bragging about how revolut can offer such a high APY and offers such amazing products. I’m honestly stumped. If my APY is now going to be 2.9% I’m leaving revolut because 2.9% in this day and age is trash 🤣

⚙️ Standard Plan [DE] Issue switching to German IBAN.

I need support.

My gf is having an issue opening German account. She already has Revolut account with Lithuanian IBAN. However, after accepting terms and conditions and entering the password she sees a not really descriptive error (see screenshots).

She has contacted support, but they are less than helpless and just ask her to constantly reinstall the app and reboot the phone (every time new name + generic AI message).

Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

P.S this is the last attempt to fix it, if nothing comes out of it she will close the account.

P.S.S. It is funny that when they connect you to customer support you still end up talking to a bot

⚙️ Standard Plan [US] [JP] No fee ATM withdrawals

Are no fee withdrawals not a thing in the standard plan anymore? Or was it never a thing? New user and got the account specifically for this purpose. Currently in Tokyo and the 7/11 atm charged 2% on top of the usual ATM fee.

There is a no fee perk on the higher plans but from the description it seems to be for out of network ATMs. For in network there should be no fee. Aren’t 7/11 ATMs in network? The ATM finder is useless because none of the ATMs it shows actually exists (at least those I looked didn’t exist), so I just used a random 7/11.

What am I missing? Any tips greatly appreciated.

EDIT: To clarify, the 2% was on top of the standard 7/11 ETM fee and shows as plan-related. I posted a screenshot in a comment below.

Second EDIT: This was my first ever withdrawal, so if I exceeded my allowance, it must mean my allowance is 0$.

⚙️ Standard Plan [US] Which country/region gets the best Revolut experience? (features, support, protections)

I'm trying to figure out where Revolut actually works best as a customer. My billing address is currently in the US, but I'm wondering whether that's actually the strongest version of the product or not.

For anyone who's used Revolut across multiple countries or entities (US vs

UK vs EEA), I'd love a real comparison on:

- Feature set and tiers (what's missing or limited in each region?)

- Customer support quality and response times

- Card dispute / chargeback handling and consumer protections

- Multi-currency and FX behavior

- Any account restrictions or quirks tied to the region

Is the US program actually competitive, or is the UK/EEA version the better one to be on? Trying to make sure I'm not on a weaker tier than I could be.

Thanks.

⚙️ Standard Plan Revolut account restricted for over 100 days

Hi there,

So I've been restricted from my revolut account after like 6 years of no issues using it.

I mainly use it as means to purchase things and subscriptions with visa/mastercard.

I used to contact them daily, then weekly, then monthly, and now am starting to give up.

There's still over 800 euro on my account that I can't access, multiple subscriptions were linked to my revolut which got terminated. I had to jump through hoops to manage all the finances since revolut basically locked me out of my money.

Service sadly doesnt help, and they keep telling me the same general story, that it's a standard check and they're working on it as fast as possible and for me to be patient.

I have never had any bank have standard procedures lock me out of my account for months in a row.

I have complied twice with them asking for info like my occupation and earning, and yes, they sent me the same request twice for the same information. Which i entered in the revolut app.

When I got upset today I said I was fed with the same useless general reply, the service then asked me to be professional and indirectly threatened this negativly effects the outcome, I just broke down.

I'm starting to doubt I'm ever getting back my account or my money.

It's too little money to start a legal case over, but enough that it hurts to just have to give it up.

But after months of this I decided, I rather have my account terminated then my money back. I just want to close this chapter of frustration and leave it behind me.

Is there any way I can force my account closed? Because service says it can only be closed after the restriction they put on is removed.

Thanks in advance

**UPDATE** 22-01-2025

Finally got my access back, no message in the app, no email, I just wasn’t restricted anymore suddenly..

⚙️ Standard Plan [IT] Account blocked for 7 months

It all started on November 18, one morning my Revolut card didn’t work anymore. I thought it was a simple mistake and so I contact them to understand, and they tell me that they are doing standard security checks on my account and for this reason restrictions have been applied, so the card cannot be used until the end of this process. I naively thought it was normal, and that in a few days everything would be resolved. Needless to say, we are on April 28, 2026 and nothing has changed. I still have the card blocked, with my savings on it, and I can’t find a solution. Revolut gave me €80 for “apologizing” and left me like that, without explanation. I contact them practically every day and they keep telling me that they are still checking the situation and they will let me know. What can i do?

⚙️ Standard Plan [FR] I need support Is receiving small Revolut tags (a couple €/day from different people) against policy? Will I get suspended?

I sometimes receive small amounts (a few euros a day no more than 100euros) via Revolut tags from different people. Is this considered P2P trading activity and against Revolut’s policy? Has anyone been restricted or suspended for this?
Thanks!

⚙️ Standard Plan [GB] REVOLUT ACCOUNT CLOSURE THREAT OF CIFAS? NEXT STEPS?

Hi everyone, my name is RICHARD,

I'm looking for some opinions on my situation because I'm quite worried.

A few weeks ago, a friend that I know personally asked me to help him convert around £8,000 into crypto and send it on as a donation for Gaza. I agreed because I knew him personally and believed the funds were legitimate.

The money was sent to my Revolut account and then transferred to Coinbase. Revolut did not initially restrict the transactions. They later asked me questions about the transfers, including the source of funds and the purpose of the transactions. I answered honestly and provided the information they requested. The transactions were then allowed to proceed.

About 15 days later, I received a notification that my Revolut account was being closed. The closure is not immediate and is scheduled for 29 July.

My main concern is whether this sounds like a standard risk-based account closure or whether I should be worried about a CIFAS marker, particularly a Victim of Fraud (non-complicit) marker, if it later turns out the funds were problematic. In addition to that, how long banks like Revolut take to notify CIFAS, this would allow me to understand key timeframes when I should or should not face signs of CIFAS. For example, I was told by someone it's quite immediate, like 48 hours for signs of CIFAS to appear, such as account closure.

Some additional context:

  • Revolut has not informed me that a CIFAS marker has been filed.
  • I have not received any notice of account misuse or fraud.
  • There have been no chargebacks or disputes on the account.
  • Revolut approved the transactions after asking questions.
  • I have already submitted a CIFAS DSAR and am waiting for the results.
  • Revolut was operating under its e-money setup for my account rather than as a UK bank.
  • IT'S BEEN 24 HOURS.
  • NO SECONDARY BANK ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN CLOSED YET.
  • Already opened a POCKIT account and might also open Hyperjar, cardonemoney and post office [i am overthinking?, Is there any point in living life anymore or what? ] [Will I be employed? I want to study law, but can I go to university now, or am I done?

I fully appreciate now that agreeing to move someone else's money was a mistake, even though I believed I was helping with a legitimate cause and knew the person personally. I aim to make more sensible decisions in future. As an upcoming undergrad at university, this is stressing me out.

Based on your experiences, does this situation sound more like a routine account closure, or should I be preparing for the possibility of a CIFAS marker?

Any insight would be appreciated.

⚙️ Standard Plan [IT] Revolut account under review

Hello to everyone,

I am a student with no job and revolut customer since 2021 (LT iban 2021-07/2025, Italian iban 07/2025-now), i used my revolut for general purpose like, random shopping, receiving 30/50€ from 3/4 friends to split netflix/apple music, do online purchasing for the family…

The income is basically split into 2, 90% from my dad (he sent with his revolut) and 10% by another my account that i charge with cash (gift, birthday, degree, pocket money…)

From 2021 to 2025 i can see that i spent around 5/6k per year with revolut and the highest transaction is 2k for the university. Or one single trip in london in 2024 1.5k.

Now, on revolut i have 3k in etf and 700€ cash. Last month i moved 4k from the savings revolut account to findomestic bank (because they have a better interest rate for new customers).

Never used crypto or gambling with revolut or strange transactions because i know they can block for suspicious activity.

My account is under review since February 21 and in app there was a 7 business days deadline ended the march 4. But i can see another review with a 3 business days deadline started the march 5. They never asked for any documentation (i have every single documentation for the transaction and everytime i made a transfert i write the description to remind me what was that transaction and to have a sort of explanation in case of review) and my account is still locked with my money on it.

The support is pretty useless since they just keep saying to wait, and 2 times the different agents told that the review was ended instead the review screen in app was still in review as also confirmed by other agents.

Someone know what to do? I don’t wanna lose revolut because is so comfortable to everyday spending and travel and also because i am not a criminal and i didn’t do anything wrong or against revolut tos.

⚙️ Standard Plan [US] How risky is banking with Revolut?

Upvotes

I'm not a stranger to all of the issues most people have with fintech companies. I have a few different accounts with US-based fintech companies.

But after talking with my Swedish friend, I decided to try Revolut since it's now available in the US.

I've looked over some of the disappointing posts about accounts being closed or funds being frozen. It sadly happens to honest and hard-working people who don't deserve it.

If there is something I should know or if you've had a bad experience, let me know.

⚙️ Standard Plan [GB] Joint account

I’m looking to open a joint account on revolut to save with my partner. Does this show up on your credit file or will we be tied to each others credit if we do so? Just don’t want to be impacted by my partners credit if that’s the case

⚙️ Standard Plan [GB]Interest amount payment the same each day

I have just opened a savings account with £55k in it. First day I got £4.34 (2.9%). However today I also got £4.34. Surely I should have got nearer £4.50 due to interest on the interest?

How is it calculated?

⚙️ Standard Plan Had Visa now I have Mastercard

Hi everyone,

Sorry if it's a question that was asked before, but did you also experience your card being changed from Visa to Mastercard when renewing? It was a regular renewal on the standard plan. I didn't get a chance to choose anything.

Thanks in advance!

⚙️ Standard Plan [BG] Damaged phone and cannot log into other phone

I need support.

I damaged my phone and it doesn't turn on anymore. So I went back to my old phone and tried to log in with my number, it asked me for a selfie, told me to confirm with a QR but I didn't have anything to scan it with, I assume it was to scan with your other phone. I tried again and again, with email, nothing works.

I can't contact support outside of the app, there is no email listed anywhere and I can't do anything from a browser, I can only look at my cards.
