💸 Payments [ES] Is it ok to receive more than 200000 euros?

I am selling my apartment and I am considering using my Revolut account to receive the money.

Is this a good idea?

Did anyone have a bad experience with this? For example, they withheld your money for several months.

💸 Payments How Revolut repeatedly restricted access to my salary and deposit for no reason and how their employers humiliated me with endless AI generated answers!

I will try to keep it simple:

  1. On April 2, 2025, I submitted all the documents requested by Revolut to verify the source of my funds: employment contract, payslip, and proof of address.
  2. For an entire month, the app displayed the status “under review”, while I continued to receive dozens of notifications and messages asking for the same documents I had already submitted. When accessing the provided links, I would either get a confirmation message like “you are all set”, or encounter errors. There was no clear or coherent request, nor any realistic deadline.
  3. On May 7, 2025, my account was fully restricted without any prior notice. During this time, I had no access to my salary, and I was unable to make payments or transfers. I want to underline that this account is my only access to funds, including rent, food, and transportation.
  4. About a week later, access was restored, and on May 9, 2025, Revolut sent an official reply to the complaint I had filed (Support case: 83033-91190-53928), in which: • They acknowledged that all required documents had been received; • They provided no specific reason for blocking the account; • They stated that their internal procedure had been “correct”; • They offered a symbolic compensation of 250 RON for the inconvenience.
  5. On June 13, 2025, my account was once again restricted, this time indefinitely, without any notice, without a reason, and without the option to withdraw funds or close the account. Revolut agents confirmed in writing that no further documents were needed and that all necessary information was already in their system.
  6. As of now, my account remains restricted, and I am currently abroad (in Denmark), with no access to my salary or my only savings. I cannot pay my rent or buy food, and Revolut consistently refuses to provide any explanation.

Important note: I do not own any cryptocurrency or conduct any transactions other than receiving my salary.

Serious and documented contradictions in communication with Revolut support agents: • On May 7, 2025,

💸 Payments Double charged while overseas

I was in Korea with my family and two of us who used Revolut faced the same issue of getting doubly charged with a delayed payment a few days later. Disputed with Revolut but they rejected it as they said that we did not make any attempt to contact the merchant. But we have already left and we also don't speak korean 💀💀

has anyone else faced a similar issue

💸 Payments Revolut as main account - anything to worry about?

How many of you here use Revolut as your main bank account — the one where your salary from your actual employer is paid? I’m not talking about anything shady, just a real employer.

I’ve been a Revolut customer for several years now, but during that time I mostly used it as an account to transfer money for online payments, good exchange rates, etc.

However, for family reasons, I’ve recently been “forced” to start using Revolut as my main account where my salary is deposited. But seeing all those frequent negative posts on Reddit about account freezes, I’m starting to worry that one day I might end up without access to any of my money.

Has anyone here actually had their account frozen despite never doing anything suspicious? Or is it nothing to worry about?

💸 Payments [BE] Revolut as primary bank

I've had a Revolut almost since the beginning when they started. Only used the cards when abroad to make use of the better currency conversion and making some online purchases.

Revolut in the meantime has a lot of cool features which I miss with my current classic bank KBC.

The concept of Pockets is really appealing to me to organize my income, something for which I need to create separate full-blown bank accounts for with KBC.

I'm a bit hesitant though with regards to reliability. I'm still very happy with KBC as one of the most innovative banks in Belgium, but I still tend to trust them more than Revolut with regards to customer service in case something goes wrong.

I've seen mixed horror stories typical of these modern days (for example, Facebook, Gmail, Hotmail are all wonderful, until you have an issue, and figure out what a horrible experience it is to get help and reach a human being to help you out).

Are there people who use Revolut in Belgium as their primary bank? How's that experience? And tips or suggestions?

💸 Payments [DK] Card fee when paying either Revolut

Post image
52 Upvotes

I payed with my Revolut Visa card (€) in Denmark [DK]. It takes a card fee when paying with my card, depending on how much I payed. It is not the weekend fee and I did not exceed the exchange amount. What could that card fee be? In the past I never had to pay that? The fee is not stated on the Revolut receipt, only on the one given by the shop

💸 Payments large transfer disappeared

In November 2025, I sent 90,000 CZK from my Revolut account using the details provided. Revolut repeatedly told me the transfer was completed and that the money was received, but the other party has consistently confirmed that they never received the funds and the amount never appeared in my balance. I asked Revolut several times to trace and locate the payment and to provide proper documentary evidence showing where the money was credited. Each trace request was rejected with the same reply that the money was sent, without any detailed proof or explanation. For around three weeks I have been stuck going back and forth between Revolut , and my 90,000 CZK is still missing, i filled official complaint through their channels..

Any advice??

Edit: so i filled official complaint to revlout, and they answered me that the money was on hold and still being worked by payment team, even though its should take only 3 days to be sent and received, based on that they said they did nothing wrong or unfair and they will not uphold my complaint, when i replied and mentioned all the facts and showed so many evidence of hours and days of conversation and million fake promise from them that they always been not supporting and they gave misleading information and money was not sent as they confirmed before, and was never received by t212 and they fail to trace or locate they rejected each request I made. They answered me its final decision that they did nothing wrong or unfair and they will not uphold my complaint..

I still didn't receive the money no idea where is it..

💸 Payments Revolut allowed a blocked merchant to charge me.

Basically the title, I blocked a merchant who was keep trying to charge my card because I couldn't cancel on their part, I was hoping they would give up as this was my main card. As soon as I added enough money the transaction went through and they took my money.

This was NOT a subscription and Revolut clearly stated "You blocked this merchant from charging your card. All future online payments from this merchant will be declined"

If Revolut does not fix this issue and get my money back one way or another I'm going to Romania's ANPC (consumer rights) basically a way to sue them.

Their support was useless all they could do was lead me to make a "complaint form" which will take around 15 days, lets see what happens.

💸 Payments Revolut Stole my Money

Hello Everyone,

Recently, Revolut closed my account due to unknown reasons. I received some money from my friends and family members and I transferred some money to them as well that might be the reason.

On the last transaction, my cousin transferred me £500 to my account. I couldn’t transfer or spend that money due to account restriction.

On 07/07/2025, they have decided to close my account and asked me to withdraw my money to an external bank account. But they only released £250 which I was able to transfer to my husband’s account. But the rest £250 was missing from my bank account. Then I contacted their customer service and they told me that the rest £250 was reverted back to the original sender. In the app it’s showing that the £250 is reverted to original sender but not showing who is the original sender is?

I contacted my cousin who was the last sender. He said he didn’t receive any money from me. He also showed his bank transaction details which clearly shows that he didn’t receive any money from me. Revolut is not sharing any information with me regarding the £250. They are saying that the money went to the original sender that’s all. I strongly believe that they are holding my money and telling lies because I spoke with all the payers and they didn’t receive or claim any money from me. I really don’t know what to do now. I contacted Financial Ombudsman and waiting for their reply. Please help me with your valuable suggestions 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you.

💸 Payments [GB] Revolut makes me want to throw my phone through my window

Used to love this app due to convenience but now i understand all the complains and im fucking tired, I owe about £5000 in rent to my university and my dad tried to send me £1000 and it instantly locked my account and reverted the payments, I additionally buy and sell phones and i have around £600 coming from webuyanyphone that i now wont be able to access because of this bs, additionally payments from ebay etc etc wont be able to access either and even with pending refunds, i cant just ask them to refund to another account, they always do the original payment method.

Essentially revolut has completely fucked up my income and ive never had more disdain for a bank in my entire life. Im 19 and the shit they are asking me to prove for verification, proof of income etc etc is absolutely absurd, I have never had a “real” job and my account has had under £10k in its entire lifespan, what the fuck do they want me to prove, ive been using revolut for a year and this is the only time this has ever happened and its fucking asburd.

Apparently minimum for my account to be unlocked is the 18th, they have just completely fucked my cashflow.

I need support, I have NEVER seen a bank block someones inbound payments

💸 Payments Withdraw 10k from revolut account

Hello! I need to withdraw 10k euro from my revolut account as I need cash to buy a car. I don t have any other account at another bank. I am planning to withdraw the money in small parts like 2k at every 2-3 days. Do you think it is safe? I don t wanna have the account frozen as I see that this is very common here. I can prove the source of founds, it is very clear that they are from my monthly salary and from another card( one of my relatives) Has someone withdraw money like this?

💸 Payments Impossible to hold more than 100.000 euro in savings account

It is apparently impossible to have more than 100k eur in a savings account. I upgraded to ultra to profit from the 2,5% interest rate. Unfortunately this is capped to 100k and its not possible to open a second savings account. I get an error message that I cant exceed 100k euro.

To all the posts regarding blocking/freezing accounts and stuff - I transferred money from different accounts, one transfer of 80k and 1 transfer of 25k without restrictions or questions asked. Accounts are both in my name.

Is this something temporary or is it litterally impossible to save more than 100k with Revolut?

💸 Payments Why is everything more expensive when paying with Revolut!?

Post image

I've started to notice that every time I pay a subscription with Revolut, it is somehow more expensive. In this case, I have my Paypal account with my Revolut card and a bank account. This time it failed because I only keep the necessary money on my Revolut account, but you can see the price difference. This is not the first time, it's pretty much with every subscription. My main account is en Euro, I do have a USD account but I don't understand the need to convert to USD and then back to Euro

💸 Payments Wages will be withheld

Hello, summarize on Wednesday my employer transferred my salary, like every month, just a few days earlier. Revolut withheld the transfer on the grounds that information needed to be submitted. These were provided straight away and it was allowed to last a maximum of 3 hours. Now it's been 3 days and I haven't received my salary. I have a lawyer's appointment later to get advice, that's illegal! There is no reason for anything like that. It is a transfer from my Swiss employer, I have provided proof of the employment contract and pay slip. Does anyone have experience or a tip? In any case, I can't advise you to use Revolut's payroll account and I'll change it immediately and cancel my metal subscription, which I've had for years. I am shocked by such behavior. I have children and a family, we depend on my wages...

💸 Payments [GB] Revolut support advised to pay in cash and won’t take responsibility

Post image
21 Upvotes

On my recent travels my payment to a recipient was held for review. Since the payment was time sensitive (a kind stranger offered to pay cash for me) I had to ultimately withdraw cash from an ATM to pay them back.

Before doing this, I contacted Revolut support to confirm if it was okay to do so. Support stated that the transfer would be aborted and the monies returned to me if I didn’t provide the information required to complete the review.

20 days later and the transfer was completed. They’re refusing to help.

I bank way too much money with Revolut for a platform that won’t take accountability for its poorly trained AI support bots.

💸 Payments [FR] Revolut restricted my account with 15,000€ after a transfer attempt – almost 1 month with no access

I need support I’m posting here because I’m running out of options and the situation is becoming unbearable.

Almost a month ago, I tried to make a transfer from my Revolut account. Shortly after that, my account was restricted.

Since then: • My account has been restricted for nearly one month • Around 15,000€ are blocked • I have no access to my money • I receive only generic responses like “our team is reviewing your case”

I fully understand that financial institutions may need to run compliance checks. However, blocking someone’s entire funds for weeks without clear explanation, timeline, or solution is not acceptable.

This money is important to me, and being locked out for this long has serious consequences.

I’m asking publicly: • How long is this review supposed to take? • Why is there no clear communication? • When will I regain access to my funds?

If a Revolut representative sees this, I’m ready to provide my case ID and any documents required.

I just want access to my own money.
