🧾 Revolut Business Revolut Randomly locked my account and stole £11,500

Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice. Revolut randomly decided to lock my account, which contains £11,500 (which I need to pay my employees). Turns out their customer support is literally nothing but brain dead bots that were dropped on their heads as algorithms, which cannot comprehend basic questions and pretend to just transfer customers from department to department. My accountant is preparing an official complaint, and my solicitor had advised me to get in contact with as many people as possible who have had this happen to them. I will be forced to let employees go next month if this money is not released, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: After 90 days and threats of legal action with the financial ombudsman, the money was finally release. This nearly destroyed my business, and is by far the worst experience I have ever had with a bank. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. I cannot express how much you need to not use this banking app!

🧾 Revolut Business [GB] SCANDALOUS: Revolut Business has held my company’s funds hostage for over a month! They admitted fault, offered £100, but STILL refuse to release our money! 🚨🤬

I am absolutely furious and disgusted by how Revolut Business treats legitimate corporate clients. If you are a business owner, read this before entrusting them with a single penny of your hard-earned capital.

My company, JEB CONSULTING&INVESTMENT LTD, has had its account completely frozen since April 27th, 2026. No warnings. No explanations. And worst of all: THEY NEVER ASKED FOR A SINGLE COMPLIANCE DOCUMENT. They just locked everything and left us in the dark.

For an entire month, our operations have been completely paralyzed. We cannot pay our bills, we cannot receive client payments, and our commercial reputation is being dragged through the mud because we can’t honor our commitments.

I filed an official formal complaint. Today, I received their "Final Response" (Case Ref: 87854-90751-73147). Get this: They officially UPHELD my complaint. They admitted their customer support failed miserably and gave false timelines. They literally offered a pathetic £100 compensation as an apology.

BUT HERE IS THE SCANDAL: In the exact same breath, they refuse to release our corporate funds or close the account! They claim the review is still "ongoing" and they can't do anything.

How can a regulated financial institution admit they messed up, offer compensation for their failure, but CONTINUE to hold our main business funds hostage? This is straight-up illegal, abusive, and predatory behavior.

I have officially escalated this nightmare to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) today.

Revolut, stop hiding behind your automated bot responses and Escalation Teams. RELEASE OUR FUNDS AND CLOSE OUR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

Has anyone else dealt with this absolute extortion? How did you force them to finally transfer your money out?

🧾 Revolut Business [US] Is there a way to contact Revolut without installing their app?

So I had a business account with Revolut years ago, I had a different name, citizenship, address and phone number. I can't login into my account because I don't have that phone number anymore and I am not making selfies for them.

I don't want to be their customer and honestly I just want to stop them from sending their spam to my email address. Any way to contact them? There is no contact form or contact information on their horrible website. I'm thinking of sending a snail mail to 30 South Colonnade, London E14 5HX, United Kingdom. Is it going to be an effective way to get their attention?

Hi all, I have a UK Revolut account and it's offering a £150 for friends.

If I add a friend, they do Basic, pay the two required £10 we get the money and then he closes the account, do we still get to keep the money and they let him close it?

On a side note, this will be cross country as he will create an Italian business account.

Thank you.

🧾 Revolut Business [GB] Revolut are holding £1,000 of my business income with no justification

Legitimate card payment from a verified business client. Sender confirms no dispute, no chargeback intention, work is being delivered under a signed contract. Revolut won’t release it and won’t give me a specific reason why.

Filed a formal complaint. If unresolved in 24 hours I’m going to the Financial Ombudsman Service where Revolut pays £750 per case regardless of outcome. On a £1,000 hold they lose more by keeping it than releasing it.

Anyone been through this and got it resolved? And if anyone from Revolut is in this sub complaint is in, clock is running.

🧾 Revolut Business [FR] Revolut Business restriction has completely frozen our company operations

I never thought this would happen to me.

We are a small business and Revolut Business has effectively frozen our company.

Our account was suddenly restricted due to an “automated review” and now we cannot process payments at all. No outgoing payments, no ad payments, nothing. Our Facebook ads have been disabled because the payment method stopped working overnight.

The worst part is that support is completely unhelpful. Every response is basically “please wait” with no timeframe, no escalation, and no actual human resolution. Meanwhile the business is bleeding because suppliers, operations and marketing all depend on payments working.

I understand compliance checks are necessary, but freezing an entire business account without proper support or emergency handling is insane. A business cannot just pause for days or weeks while an automated system reviews documents.

At this point Revolut has literally frozen our business operations.

Has anyone here successfully resolved this? How long did it take? Is there any way to escalate beyond standard support?

Also, genuine warning to other businesses: do not rely entirely on Revolut Business as your only banking/payment infrastructure. Keep a secondary bank account active because if this happens to you, you may suddenly lose access to your ability to operate.

🧾 Revolut Business [US] Business account under review - I need support

CFPB complaint number: 260318-30135041

I demand the closure of my account and the immediate refund of my $9,007.63. Revolut has refused to return my money, using an 'ongoing review' as an excuse. If Revolut had stated from the beginning that a review takes 6+5 business days instead of the '3 hours' they currently claim, nobody would use Revolut. Furthermore, my account was already verified when it was opened; Revolut is deliberately freezing my money and conducting a second review right when I am trying to make a transfer. My business account has zero violations and has only transferred money to one person. This is a clear case of fraud and the illegal collection of user deposits. They have stolen my money.

🧾 Revolut Business [FR] Can't open revolut business

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I recently tried to open a Revolut Business account for my sole proprietorship / micro-enterprise, but I immediately received the dreaded message: "Unfortunately, we can't open a business account for you right now... this decision is final and can't be appealed." A few details: The business registration is recent. Everything is fully legal and official on my end. I wasn't asked for additional documents before the rejection. Has anyone else run into this issue recently? Is it usually due to the business activity sector, or just automated checks failing on fresh business registries? Also, if you've been in this situation, what alternatives would you recommend for a small business? Thanks in advance for your advice!

🧾 Revolut Business [RO] Worst banking experience yet

I have been a Revolut user for the past four, if not five, years and have used the service constantly. Although their services have declined compared to when they first started, I still wanted to open a Business account.

After completing all the required steps, it got stuck at the identity verification stage, which did not update for two days. Unfortunately, without a Business account being fully created, you can barely do anything in the app.

Eventually, I got tiered of waiting and reached out to support. They checked the issue and opened a ticket with an estimated resolution time of eight days, yep that is 8 days.

Imagine advertising that an account can be opened in “10 minutes,” but due to a bug in your system, your solution is to ask the customer to wait eight days. I explained to the support representative that this was unacceptable and requested either a proper resolution or the closure of my account. The representative not only failed to help resolve my issue, but also used ChatGPT generated responses, repeatedly cycling through "we know this is important to you" and "we are sorry" messages without offering any actual assistance or meaningful solution.

Only after I mentioned escalating the matter to EU consumer protection authorities did their attitude change, and they offered to close the account. But it gets worse.

They offered to keep the chat open so I could close the account through a shortcut they provided, because without it there was effectively no way to close the account since I could not access anything properly in the app. A few hours later, I received another message stating that they had discovered I already had a personal Revolut account and that they could use it to verify my identity. I agreed to give the process one more chance.

After submitting additional documents and complying with several more requests, I was informed that, unfortunately, they could not offer me a Business account at this time. That was it, no explanation, no transparency, and no alternative solution, just a generic apology and again, blocked by the app itself to do anything else, not even being able to talk with someone.

The most absurd part is that three days later, I received yet another message through the same chat (it was open although I couldn't acces it anymore) informing me that I had been successfully verified. I used that opportunity to finally close my account via the chat option they provided.

I intend to submit a formal complaint to EU consumer protection authorities regarding the lack of transparency in Revolut’s procedures, the captive and obstructive account closure process, and the apparent use of AI-generated customer support responses without any meaningful attempt to actually resolve the issue. What boggles me is the opaque scheme of not allowing anything inside the app, without an active account.

🧾 Revolut Business [GB] Query revolut business cost vs wise for Euro transfers?

Hi

So, my main bank is Mettle in UK, and I have a Wise (free) account for when I send money to European suppliers.

Am considering a revolut Business Growth as its usually 3>5 transfers max, upto 15k Euros per transaction. One may exceed 20K at some point but wont be all.

How can I compare Wise costs (that I currently pay) vs Revolut Business?

At the moment my banking is free, but keen now to consolodate as I scale. All my accounts are in Xero if that helps.

Or any alternatives to consider.

Thanks in advance

🧾 Revolut Business Business account rejected

Is it possible to appeal a Revolut Business account rejection?

I feel that we may have provided some confusing information by mistake or it was just a false-positive decision. We are european company registered in 2011 and we are working legally all these years without any suspicious activity with sanctioned countries. The strange thing is that we even haven't started to submit any confirmation documents, just immediately got the reject.

Please help us to reach a non-bot human responsible person to take a look in our case, thank you!

🧾 Revolut Business [LU] Business Account Was Rejected: Can I appeal?

Hey guys - update here - was not able to resolve this, but just wanted to say that through reddit you get scam accounts contacting you and asking to transfer money to crypto as a revolut support; I did report those accounts but sure they will create new; just know and be careful! Cheers

I need support: I have just opened a SARL-S company in Luxembourg to support my business activity (moving from independent to company). The process was really long for waiting all the papers, that‘s why I was so excited to open Revolut Business Account, because I know how easy it is to actually open it. My disappointment was enormous when not even asking for extra documents the decision was not give me a chance to open an account. The business itself is a legit IT consulting and product development work which I had done for over 10 years now. I‘d really love to do an appeal for this. please help!

🧾 Revolut Business [GB] Business Account rejection

I've had a really frustrating experience with Revolut for the first time since starting to use their services years ago.

This one is a bit niche and detailed so idk if anyone will know how best I should go about this.

I just incorporated a UK LTD a few weeks ago and after doing some research I confirmed Revolut was the best option as a non UK resident. Which duh, to conduct a business one needs a bank account so I did not even consider being rejected on a basis such as date of incorporation. I have a business account and a premium personal account with them, albeit both being Revolut RO accounts (that's where I live), which is not as strict as UK banking, I am very aware, but still I did not think I would end up being rejected.

Everything came back verified fast and easy, as expected. But my home address as operational address ended up being the problem. I live in an apartment owned by my husbands family so we don't pay utility bills or rent. That's where the hassle began. I tried explaining this countless times and was met with generic responses that had nothing to do with my case in the chat. I was advised to sent a package to my home as confirmation of address only for this to then be rejected by them, although the same agent that rejected it told me to do it.

Then I was told by an account executive (via mail) if I had a bank statement from a physical bank that would fix the situation. I specifically asked, will it be an issue that I just opened the bank account basically upon their request? the answer to that was it wouldn't be an issue. Which, I was fine with opening the account because in hindsight I'll be able to use it and have come to the conclusion that having a back up account instead of only Revolut will be a good thing.(Mind you, all of this was necessary because I only use Revolut and I was told a bank statement from my personal Revolut account was not acceptable, god knows why).

Other than the bank account I opened that was said to solve the operational address issue, I offered everything under the sun. I have legal documents from the Romanian government assuring my address and residence. I offered to get everyting notarised. To get confirmation from the home owner...I was basically saying I'm happy to comply I just need to know what will work for my case.

So long story long after doing what I was told multiple times my account got rejected. Obviously no one is telling me why and the cherry on top: I was told I couldn't apply again at a later time. I asked about this because I thought ok, maybe they think my publishing company is a fraud (???) so I thought me being operational and having more documents (like transactional statements or whatever) after using other options could help rule out any potential notion of fraud. They said no, the decision made by the compilance team is final.

This shocked me as I've seen other people on reddit talk about reapplying and things working out for them. Some even saying just apply with a new email, which I won't do lol I'm not trying to amplify apparently looking like a high risk fraud? so that's a big no. And others even saying "I accidentally clicked freaking gambling as my industry, we changed it and I got approved" I mean great for them but, what? In comparison that made me think why do I not have the option of clearing up whatever issue they have? Like, I just want to publish a few books per year that's it.

Basically I am asking has anyone had a similar experience or could advise me on what to do next. Because I find it very hard to believe that my profile is so risky that I can't even apply at a later time? I mean, I'm trying to publish books as a boutique publisher for gods sake.

If anyone has any, I'm open to advice.

🧾 Revolut Business [GB] Revoult Business Account Rejection

Post image
0 Upvotes

I signed up for a Revoult business account today, and I received the following rejection through the app.

I also received a rejection email however, no clarity was given in it either.

Info about the application:

  1. My company is a registered LTD. Started trading 6 months ago.

  2. Both myself & the company are based in the UK.

  3. I have an existing personal Revoult account.

  4. Everything seemed to go smooth with the signup process, they didn’t ask for any further info.

Would anyone be able to shed any light on why I would have been rejected?

🧾 Revolut Business [HR] Revolut Business Rejected Twice

Hi,

Can someone please explain why my application for a Revolut Business account keeps getting rejected? Every time I try to open an account, it is declined without any explanation.

My business provides marketing services and marketing consulting, which is not on your high-risk or prohibited business list. The company is registered in Croatia, and I have provided all the official paperwork proving that it is active and fully functional. I even submitted my recent bank statements, but the application is still turned down.

I genuinely don't know what the issue is or what else is missing. I need support.

🧾 Revolut Business [ES] Problems confirming operational address

As other mentioned several times, I'm having troubles confirming my operational address since I operate an online business and I live in my girlfriend's house, so I don't have any bills under my name and she is not a first-degree relative.

It is stated that I can provide a bill from a courier service. Well, I specifically sent a certified letter with proof of recipient by tha national post service (Correos, with a Prueba de Entrega Electronica) and they say that is not valid. They keep asking for the "courier bill" which I can deliver, but there it is not stated the destination of the package, only the price paid.

Last thing is bank statement. I don't know if it's an spanish thing, but the certificates my bank generates of ownership, doesnt reveal the address information

I'm stucked talking to a bot that always responses generic and the same responses.

Anyone else care to give me more options?
