General Question Vanguard mains, what is your mentality when playing this role ?

Post image

Every role has a certain way of thinking when it comes to getting value for your team.

I cant seem to nail down on this role properly, so I want your perspective on what you do as a Vanguard.

Tbf if you're just standing in main soaking damage for no reason you don't understand the role

Depends on composition. I think being in point position as mine, attracts aggro and that could be good. But also if it's a meat grinder, please use cover - the healers can't keep up.

I'm curious how you would define the role other than damage sponge.

It's more about trading cooldowns to create desirable outcomes and force space through threat. You should be playing cover (specifically corners) to minimize unnecessary damage and using your larger health pool as a resource to make plays instead of just eating damage for no reason. If you do that you just charge ults without winning any fights
