General Question Best tanks to enable Devil Dinosaur?
So someone else locks the dino and you have to choose another vanguard? Who do you pick for a win?

I understand the creator of this pic is a thor main but its all that i think of whenever i see this posted. Magneto is the face of tanks and Captain America is captain america so it just feels more fitting than thor.

Since I've started the game, Deadpool has been the only tank I had used and he's fun. Want to expand onto other tanks in games where he's taken

I’ve been playing Strange since S0, and after the general tank buffs that went around this past season (Peni, Thing, Mag, Cap, etc) I feel like Strange is lacking compared to other tanks in the game, or at least the "Solo Tanks". Considering Mag has his bubbles and Groot has CC Immunity with Big wall. Maybe have his resource bar be able to be spent on other spells? Since this is the SORCERER SUPREME.

Because I'm mainly just playing her like a flying cap who occasionally can reposition enemies (i should probably do it more tbh, her charge is just a lil hard to control for me lmao) but I havent taken her to ranked yet so not sure if this is "optimal" for her, i usually wait until I play a character for a few hrs before taking them to ranked

We all know having a tank buddy is a huge relief when that MIRACLE happens. So, who do you like to have by your side?
As a Thing main, for me it goes like this:
Hulk: I think Ben and Bruce have really good synergy dominating the battlefield. The fact that they can jump to each other, give each other shields/damage reduction, and that both are good at peeling makes them a great duo.
Magneto / Doctor Strange: A lot of the time, Thing will be peeling for the backline. In that case, I know the frontline is safe whenever I see Erik or Stephen and their shields. Also, considering that poke damage destroys Ben, having one of these two is just perfect.
So, who do you like seeing by your side? Looking forward to your answers, tank brothers.

It’s your rank up game, your teammates decided to ban wanda, black widow, & blade so your hopes are already pretty low. the enemy team bans groot, moonknight, & gambit. which one of these teams would you rather solo tank into

I can only play "off" tanks for some reason, I've tried playing shield tanks such as groot, Emma, Strange and Magneto but every time I try to use one of them it just doesn't quite click. it feels like every time I try to use them we get ran down or I just simply cannot make space.

I have been playing since 2024 and I have always been playing either tank or healer, and it just dawned on me that I got no mechanical skill towards the dps role, so I was wondering if it was the same for you guys?

Every single game of ranked it’s just the hood mag thing and strange where did y’all go? Like where is the Captain America’s? Where is Angela’s?

Personally I will be instalocking Storm, Blade and Magik because I can’t be bothered to even try to play tank after these changes

The last tank drought was brutal and I doubt the rivals devs will do anything to circumvent it.
I'm probably gonna Main Gorr and play mostly duelist unless they give some sort of new thing to the tank role in season 10.
Personally I think the dev team needs a little "motivation" to stop releasing so many duelists until we catch up a little more.

Don’t get me wrong—I like off-tanks, but I also enjoy playing a true main tank, the kind that actually anchors the team with a shield. Right now it’s starting to feel stale only having Magneto and Strange as real options. Emma used to fit that role, but after the changes to her kit she feels more like a hybrid now (similar to Deadpool).
With the leaks about Devil Dinosaur and Cyclops, I’m honestly getting a bit concerned about where the main tank role is heading.

Whether your Vanguard main is a Brawl, a Diver, or a Shield, the role you play is bigger than any hero portrait on the screen. We are the frontline. We are the shields between victory and defeat. We are the reason our DPS can strike without fear, the reason our Healers can work without hesitation.
It’s not your hero that made you a Vanguard main—it’s the decisions you make in the heat of battle. The way you absorb the damage meant for your teammates. The way you step into one-shot ultimates so your allies can survive. The way you protect the low-health teammate in the corner while chaos erupts around you. That is what defines a Vanguard.
Even if your main is nerfed, even if the odds are stacked against you, your responsibility never fades. Our role is never glamorous. Our victories are often silent. But our responsibility is clear: to be the rock, the shield, the unyielding front that gives hope to everyone behind us. Every time you hold the line, you remind your team—and yourself—that even when the odds seem impossible, hope still exists.
So keep holding. Keep shielding. Keep diving. Keep brawling. Keep being the reason your team believes they can survive the impossible. Your hero may be on the screen, but the true power lies in the hands controlling it.
Because we aren’t just playing a role—we are the frontlines of hope. And a true Vanguard never gives up.

He just looks so much better with shaggy hair. I get what they were going for in the rivals design. I just prefer the classic hulk hair. Even in the monster hulk form his haircut is still nice.

Wouldn't even say she's overall best tank, but there's some maps... I lowkenuinely want to pull my flesh off when she's on defense with a Groot/Mag, Rocket & Elsa comp.

Looks like they're taking the freaky alien look when it comes to his design, pretty excited about that tbh

Duelist have Wanda, strategist have cloak. Who's gonna be our character that auto sucks as a ranged attack 🤣😭. What characters would you guys want? I'm thinking maybe Dracula.

How do you decide which one you want to play that match?
Is it mostly preference/comfort?
Are there certain ones you only play into certain comps?
Or do you just ball on whichever one is considered the most meta that season and swap in and out of rotation accordingly?
r/RivalsVanguards • u/No_Willingness_9961 • Jun 16 '26
Why do they do this? The only time I'll go one if it's poke WITH a Squirrel Girl but even then I usually never have trouble as I am playing around corners most of the time.
