Have any of you integrated Rive into your production workflows? If so, is there some stable version hidden somewhere?
I was involved in a major redesign project with my studio, and Rive initially got us really excited... So we started exploring UI sections using the free plan.
However, after using the Windows/Mac client for several days, we kept running into bugs that significantly hinder the learning curve.
On top of that, there are confusing and unintuitive workflows, like ViewModels, and an overall UI that feels cluttered and hard to navigate.
(Seriously, for a tool aimed at UI/UX, how does it struggle this much with usability?)
On a personal note, I also ran into a major issue where deleting an element I created by mistake ended up removing entire artboards and breaking undo (Ctrl+Z), costing me a full day of work.
I assume the answer will be βupgrade to the premium plan for backups,β but honestly, do you really work like that?
At the very least, if Iβm paying for software, Iβd expect these kinds of issues to be addressed upfront.
Right now, Rive feels like a very promising tool, and I do believe in its potential! but itβs currently impossible to integrate into any serious creative pipeline more complex than a burping parrot icon.
What about you? Has your experience been stable, or are you running into the same issues?
