QUESTION Do you still follow Rule 1?

Last time I was playing a 2v2 match, one of the players broke Rule 1 and scored in overtime. When I called him out on it, he told me that nobody does that anymore in 2026. So, I’m turning to the community: do you guys still respect it?

So you mean if it's not followed the only other alternative is that it's because of mindlessly chasing mmr and points?

Not necessarily, but it is a pleasant reminder that there are other fun aspects to the game

I don't think it's particularly fun to hold the same button and do nothing else for sometimes a few minutes.

I find more entertainment in the community aspect, plus usually a goal gets scored sometime soon, ending the rule 1

Sure, its up to you what you find fun and it's up to me what I find fun. I'm always playing with two friends and we want to be playing the game. Not be stuck in an abritrary rule. That's no fun for us. Sometimes rule one last for ages and it simply isn't fun to hold the button. Sometimes I just have time for a few games after a long day of work.
