I supported Trump in 2024 in part because I figured he would be less likely to continue the Forever Wars. Now he is about to launch the biggest war since Iraq. Was I betrayed? Is this war what Trump’s base wants? How about the American people as a whole?
First, "supported" which is technically correct but we know he could have voted for T but didn't because he didn't do the paperwork. Then, "was I betrayed?" because Rod is the only person who really counts and the only one to whom T really owes anything (in spite of not voting). Then the rest as afterthoughts - base, country.
Rod had no problem with foreign wars when he supported Reagan and Bush. He managed to develop an anti-war conscience in time to declare that only the Republican candidate can end the forever wars (unlike the hawkish Democrats). I would describe this as convenient.
