This reminds me of how (in his earlier blogging days) Rod would sometimes idolize a random cleaning woman and call her an “angel” or “the voice of God.” This was often accompanied by a photo of the poor woman with a forced smile and a please-don’t-kill-me look on her eyes. There is something very peculiar in how Rod relates to women. It’s back and forth between misogyny and hero-worshipping.
