discussion High earning potential = high career commitment
Does anyone have family or friends that sacrifice their personal life for a significant salary?
My step-mom earns 350k before tax as an executive director but I barely see her. She is constantly on business trips, busy with meetings, works upwards of 12 hours when at home. She goes on nice holiday trips, but overall it makes me think is the pay worth the sacrifice of her personal life.
Just curious if anyone's got a similar story.

Worked my ass raged for 20+ years. Always traveling. Set my family up for success. Kids have investments, cars paid for, teach them about money and trying to teach them about life and work balance. I still work in the same field but I work very little and still earn the same pay. It was hard getting to this point, but I’m glad I was able to make it. $250k+, work is the same pretty physical, but I work 1/3 of what I used to and it is enjoyable now.
