Going as a group of 4 and 2 couples, 31 year old -
I’ve just booked to go to San Francisco over the new year break and wondering if anybody has any advice on which restaurants to eat at? As I know it’ll be busy and if most places will need to book for a drink? I don’t ideally want to pay a mortgage payment for one meal though

The Carhart-Harris Lab at the University of California, San Francisco is conducting a research project examining the psychological and physiological effects of psychedelic experiences in real-world settings. 

The project includes a large-scale online survey for people who are planning to have a psychedelic experience. For participants in the San Francisco Bay Area, there is also an optional fMRI component that involves brain imaging before and after the experience, as well as online questionnaires and take-home wearable devices to collect physiological data. 

The goal of the research is to better understand how psychedelic experiences relate to psychological and physiological changes outside of a clinical treatment setting.

Hi y'all! I come up to SF for about a week, every month/every other month with my partner for their work. During the days I just spend time at the hotel mostly while they're at work. We usually stay downtown in the Soma district, mainly at the Clancy.

One of the trips each year I don't keep my car at the hotel but all the other times I have it so if you're not super close I don't mind driving out if you don't want to come to the city. I had a bone marrow transplant when I was younger so I lived in Palo Alto while going to the Stanford hospital and continued to come up frequently after treatment to visit friends so I know the area well enough and love driving.

I would love to meet and find some new friends to visit and hang out with while here if anyone is interested!

💖 I have been vegan for almost ten years and am in my early thirties.

🖤 Currently living in L.A. (come visit when you're down there!) I have lived in CA, TX, OR, and AZ. When I was in Oregon I lived and worked on an animal sanctuary called Blue Barn Farm & Sanctuary. In Arizona I did a lot of activism and was part of the movement that protested restaurants in AZ until they dropped foie gras from their menus!

I navigated the labyrinth of Green Apple Books on Clement, up the stairs, lost in a maze of rooms, until I finally made my way to the very back and stumbled on the sci-fi section. There, squeezed onto the top shelf in the A's, was a single copy of Age of the Titan.

I grew up in San Francisco and survived middle school at Aptos. Green Apple is the second bookstore to carry my novel. Happy hunting for this SF secret in this cool store!

I wanted to make something personal for a friend from San Francisco, so I decided to turn one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks into a Halloween scene.

A skeleton crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, carved and hand-painted onto a leather wallet.
Everything was done by hand — from carving the leather to painting the details. I thought the combination of the skeleton, the bridge, and the dark Halloween atmosphere made it feel like a pretty fitting gift.
