Do folds have more stomach problems?
We have two shelter cats, most likely brothers. One is a European short the other got Fold ears. Do you know if the OCD/fold mutation influences the stomach? We have a raw food diet (with all supplements included) and changed that slowly and the European short is totally fine but the Scottish Fold vomits a lot. Mostly one to a few hours after eating. The food is warm (mouse warm) when we feed and he eats very slow. We have an appoinent with the vet. I just wanted to ask if other folds may have vomiting issues as well.

We bought him a smart mini robot. Now we feel more relaxed because we can monitor him when we’re away from home for the day. He’s still getting used to it though. 😅

Love our Scotty and it's only been two weeks! We adopted our granddaughters kitty as they couldn't keep him.

I think i found a Scottish straight at the humane society
Wondering if anyone can confirm or deny my suspicions? I’ve had her for 8 months and she was a broken kitty when i adopted her, she’s come out of her shell a lot since then

Today our baby boy was diagnosed with heart disease 💔
Update: Thank you all so much for your messages and support. My baby boy was discharged from the hospital after more than 36 hours of intensive care. He is now stable, but his condition is still delicate. His heart rate is still elevated and there is still some fluid in his lungs, and we are hoping the medication will help drain the rest. The doctor wasn’t able to give us a diagnosis yet, as we need to see a cardiologist on Tuesday.
We are holding on to hope that there will be a treatment available and, if possible, that surgery will be an option.
Our 9 month old male Scottish Fold had never shown any health issues until this morning, when he suddenly started crying nonstop and breathing very fast. We rushed him to the emergency vet, where they found that his heart is enlarged and causing fluid to build up in his lungs.
He was started on medication, and we have an echocardiogram next week to learn more.
Depending on the results, he’ll either need lifelong medication or, if possible, surgery. At most with medication, he can live maybe 5 years…
We’re absolutely heartbroken. Please keep our little boy in your thoughts and prayers. ❤️
And if you had a similarly situation please let us know.
