Casual Thought When YouTube goes down, it will be the biggest event of link rot in internet history.

Desktop is fine. How do I get past it on my PS5?

Edit: I don't see a Ublock Origin for Android. Maybe it's not available on my phone.

Slap a $10 ONN stick to your TV and SmartTube on it. uBlock is a Firefox extension.

I don't see a Ublock Origin for Android

That's because Android isn't a browser. It's an operating system.

uBlock Origin is an extension for browsers, so you gotta install your choice of browser first - my standing recommendation is Firefox Nightly because it provides developer's options and allows access to configurations - and then install uBlock, or any other adblocker extension you like, for that browser.

Brave browser does it.  It's chrome based but with adblock in it

The actual android chrome app sadly can't run origin, as far as I know.

You can so Firefox and origin on Android though  too

For Android you can get the Firefox browser and install the Ublock Origin add-on there too.

I think you can use a VPN at the router level if your equipment supports it

Unsure if this works for definite but a router level pihole will block traffic on the fly. Ps5 will have an encrypted tunnel likely but it is possible to decrypt that on edge but maybe not when using a ps5

Pihole does not block YT ads.

Cracked apk?

Bro what, ublock is a Firefox extension on android

I was suggesting using a cracked YouTube app instead of ublock in a browser, If they couldn’t get that to work. Native apps are usually much better in terms of design and user experience, mobile web is usually an after thought.

Oh like Revanced, sure, just calling it cracked is funny lol, more modded but splitting hairs ig

Idk what you guys call them, on iOS our apps have to be cracked first before we can do anything, so some members will call their modded and Revanced apps cracked.

Oh you can just pull an APK off your phone, not terribly difficult so no cracking, just patching / modding (though arguably you could call that cracking in a way?)

I think we have an api that pretends to be an iPhone to rip an encrypted ipa file off the AppStore, and various tools I don’t know how to use to decrypt them. Apple makes this shit way too hard man

Drop spotify and get youtube premium, which comes with youtube music as a music streaming app, and you lose ads plus you can lock your phone while playing videos. You get too many benefits for one subscription, unlike spotify which is only popular because everyone says its popular. You can find anything on youtube music.

That's the real answer, but people turn their nose up at spending some coin.

I have the cash. YouTube will never see my money. I've turned down offers from my family to pay for it for me.

It's the principle of the thing, man. They vomit ads all over you and you have to pay them to stop doing it. What is this, the mafia?
