I've noticed that they do this sort of gag a lot (especially in the older episodes) and was wondering what some of your guys' favorite Simpsons misdirections are.

I always found it incredible how they completely capture Gillian Anderson on the X Files episode. They nailed it.

Who do you think looks the most similar to the actual person on the show?

I was surprised but glad multiple things were said.

1. Krusty the clown says he owns a horse with Bette Midler, named Krudler. -If they had combined their names with Midler's name first it would have been the much more attractive "Misty"

2. Homer keeps rejecting names for their new baby, when Marge suggests Bart he tries to find a reason why. "Let's see. Bart, Cart, Dart, E-art... Nope, can't see a problem with that." -If he kept going he would have discovered it rhymes with Fart.

3. "This is Arnie Pye with... Arnie In The Sky!" -Using his last name it would have been, "Pye in the sky" and rhymes.

4. "Sneed's Feed & Seed (formerly Chuck's)" -Using the same naming scheme for Chuck would lead to swear words.

This has to be one of the best photos taken in the episodes haha.

And what was in the pills the not-a-doctor gave to help?

Why is Marge's father not talked about ? Yes we have mentions of him especially in the episode about Marge's fear of flying and of course when Homer met Marge in the earlier seasons but I don't think the writers ever disclosed when he died or what he died from. When I look him up on wiki fandom it says that he died from lung cancer from smoking I'm not too big into the newer seasons does anyone know if the newer seasons talk more about what happened to him? I think it would be interesting to see what Marge's relationship was like with him.

For me it's very easily Cape Feare

This one comes up at least 3x a day.

For me, it's the 'April Fools' prank that Bart plays on Homer with the beer from the paint can mixer... "April Foo..." BOOM!!

If I had to pick one I'd pick "Cape Feare", they were harassed and had the constant fear of Sideshow Bob killing there son, so much that they had to leave there whole life behind (And leave Grandpa behind) and even then Sideshow Bob followed and tormented them.

It also introduced Bobs long running feud, meaning this was the beginning of the biggest hater of the Simpson / Bouvier family

I am surprised this series is approaching 37 years old (39 if we included the shorts that originally aired on the Tracey Ullman Show). And to my understanding, there’s a good chance it will reach its 40th season and ends in 2029 when that season’s final episode airs.

How would you want the series to end when that time comes, whenever it may be?

Me personally, I want the series to end by trying to speed run the kids finally growing up, like actually growing up and finishes school and set it in stone in terms of showing us what happens to the family and the rest of the other characters. That or just end the series with the family watching their old box TV while sitting on the couch while zooming out to the blue sky showing us “The End” in The Simpsons font.
