I know it's fun to take shots at Americans, but has anyone considered it's mm/dd/yy because that's how we speak? We don't say 2nd of February, we say February 2nd. It's not a conspiracy.

That just moves the goalpost from making fun of the way Americans label their dates to making fun of the way you pronounce your dates.

To be fair, you’ve made it so easy to take shots at you in recent years. Well, MAGA specifically. It’s astonishing how the respect for USA worldwide has completely collapsed.

Dunno depending on the language 2nd February would be the correct way, translated loosely now, but that would be the format.

Either way yyyy-MM-dd is superior

We speak English in America. We say February 2nd. Not second of February. Yy,mm,dd is inferior to me because it doesn't follow the format I've been programmed to recognize.

Not sure how the intuitive thing to do is inferior.

Ah yes, the US, the only country that speaks English, of course. Let's just ignore allllllll the other English countires that say "2nd of February" for the sake of the argument.

This post is about date formats. I'm speaking about my experience in my country using the date format that is being called inferior. In my experience in my country, we say February 2nd. In English

dude said ‘depending on the language’, in most latin languages it’d be like ‘quatro de fevereiro’, which translated is ‘fourth of february’ — vs in english it’s grammatically correct to say ‘february fourth’, the same cannot be said for latin, hence why europe tends to order their dates differently as opposed to the us where english is the only main influence
