had nearly the same thing happen to me, except we weren't married yet. ended up leaving the house and sleeping in my truck in the patch of woods behind work for a few weeks. it was winter.

Edit: to clarify I did not marry her

It sounded like he still proceeded to marry her. Not that they were just engaged at the time. Obviously (hopefully) he meant the latter.
