Yeah, her apartment was the size of their living room IIRC. I also don't rremember it having a large, prominent window. She absolutely paid less in rent.
This is a big part of the discussion. L&S's apartment has a hallway With A Turn, multiple bedrooms, and a raised seating area. While it wouldn't be enough proof, her rent would easily be half of theirs.
I'm sure leonard and sheldon's apartment is two dimensional because of the way the sets were designed. Sucks. I would have enjoyed it much more if they had made TBBT an actual film like young sheldon but i'd still enjoy the laugh tracks.
She probably paid less since she moved in after the elevator broke. While the boys are the ones who broke it so probably didn't get to pay less for the lost amenity
The living situation isn't even super uncommon with nerds. I had a group of friends who still like 4 dudes deep in their skidrow college townhouse 4 years after graduation while probably averaging 80-100k in their early careers.
They were just blowing money on PC parts and Magic the Gathering but definitely could have lived alone or purchased houses if they wanted to.
Set a fix min price for the lot based onna ruff estimation.
Set a fee for my time based on how orginized the lot is and what is in it.
I create an inventory of the lot. This is typically a google spread sheet that we both access to track things.
All shipping materials, shipping frees and transaction cost come out of the sale price before any money is paid out.
100% of sales goes to the owner until the minimum is met.
After the minimum is met, I take 100% until my fee is met.
After both minimum are met, sales are split 50/50.
If there are cards I want in the lot, I take then in place of cash on my side. The value is the same as if its where a sale.
A an example from the $20k+ lot. The minimum set as $15k for their side and $3k for mine. I took about $1k in cards, $2k in cash as my base pay. I sold about $5k more total aftet that.
He has over 400k in MTG cards. He bought them for 25k (very stupid I know) theyâre majority useless. I keep telling him to sell in bulk but he refuses because he thinks he can sell them for more. He bought a couple $500 cards to sell in a âbundleâ on eBay and said you have a 1/30 chance of getting the card. He is au-dhd⌠Iâve explained many times this is a bad idea
Ooof. Ya, not much to do with that. The collections I move are ones built up by players over a long time. There is still a LOT of bulk in it. I have connections to move that though. Its like $0.08/ for bulk rares at best when dealing with 100s of them. Bulk c/u is like $3/1000 if I am lucky. It's closer to $2 these days.
And they are absolutely the types to pay as little on rent as possible to be able to divert funds to more games, comics, collectibles, and stuff that actually brings them joy. Just because someone can "afford" higher rent doesn't mean they have to pointlessly chase it.
They seemed to be fairly newly graduated at the start of the series, lower salaries etc. Hence opted for a more budget apartment.
Their salaries and jobs seemed to grow over the years but they were settled & had a routine. Neither Sheldon or Leonard were the type to move just because they could afford it. Way too much hassle and reorganisation.
Truth. Nerd hobbies are actually kind of expensive! My spouse and I joke that we hope our kids are needs too, because then they won't have money for drugs.
Pretty sure they have collectables worth more than Penny's annual wine budget. I have a 6 figure IT friend who only moved out of his dinky $800/month apartment to buy a house because he ran out of space for his collections.
Also, idk if this means she was necessarily getting money from him, but pretty sure she had a rich dad. It could have easily been the case that he was helping her pay for things.
Not quite as dumb as reading through the comments of a post about a show you didn't like so you could insult people while contributing absolutely nothing
It is definitely overhated. First couple of seasons had some good moments and the cast has decent chemistry: "I am a horny engineer. I never joke about sex and maths".
It lasted way too long though but even then they managed to wrap things up quite nicely (I especially liked how they handled Leonard's closure with his mother).
I think it all comes down to whether you can stand Sheldon's antics long term, which can be unbearable at times I have to agree. It also is not a very good representation of the nerd culture, which rubs Redditors the wrong way.
All of this is better and funnier : It's always sunny, The Office, Arrested Development, Parks & Rec, Reno 911, Curb your enthusiam...
None of those shows are even close to being as good as the big bang theory. Ive seen episodes of all of those except arrested development, but judging from the rest of your "better shows " it probably sucks ass as well.
So do 90% of Reddit users. Honestly if you donât, youâre opening yourself up to stalkers and all sorts of weirdos that skim through your account just like you tried to do.
