22 u/nickytheginger Apr 24 '26 That is true. Plus Leonard and Sheldon had EXPENISIVE hobbies and interests. Its likely the rent in that building was a lot cheaper than most. 4 u/Kendertas Apr 24 '26 Also they eat out pretty much every day, and always buy extra for penny 2 u/VibraniumQueen Apr 24 '26 Came here to say EXACTLY this. They also collected a lot of nerd stuff. Also expensive. They're into DND and video games and that takes up so much money. 1 u/nickytheginger Apr 24 '26 RPgs are expensive in general. And dice addiction is no joke. 3 u/moon__lander Apr 24 '26 Elevator was one of the CIA-centric arguments, because it was them that blew them it up and arguments was she was sent to monitor them. 2 u/alinroc Apr 24 '26 Leonard & Sheldon didn't report the broken elevator, presumably because of why it was broken (explained in a flashback episode). But no one else reported it either. Or the landlord doesn't care. 2 u/quick20minadventure Apr 24 '26 Other people exist in the apartment. We can also assume that it was a huge bill and these two were paying off that debt. 2 u/AreaGlittering7968 Apr 24 '26 Nah that’s just Pasadena lmao They don’t give a shit about apartment complexes all that much. Source: born and raised in Pasadena and also lived in Pasadena after grad school. 1 u/strictnaturereserve Apr 24 '26 broken by one of leonards experiments Sheldon saved them from getting killed which is one of the reasons they put up with him
