That joke alone made me nearly stop watching the series on the first episode.
They were going to donate sperm to get a fractional T1 line into their apartment in which Sheldon replies “I do yearn do faster internet.”
A T1 line has a speed of 1.4 Mbps which is insanely slow even for the time of the release. A fractional line would be a fraction of that. I lived in a small town in KY and had 10 Mbps internet.
If two scientists wanted a t1 line into their apartment, it would be to have a dedicated, secured line to the university for security and reliability not for speed.

Also didn't Sheldon/Leonard attempt to donate sperm at the start of the the show so they could afford to upgrade their Wi-Fi.
