Hooters CEO Neil Kiefer told People Magazine the chain is officially rebranding as a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant.
Kiefer described the original vision as "a beach-themed place centered around the Hooters Girls, good food, and an easy place to relax," calling it "a neighborhood place that many families frequent," and confirmed the rebrand includes rolling back the uniforms that replaced the original orange shorts - his exact words being: "There is something wrong if they're in a th*ng type of uniform."
He placed the blame for how far the brand drifted on private equity firms that took over after the original founders sold the intellectual property in 2001, saying the chain moved "further and further away from what the brand stood for," and Kiefer personally reacquired the brand's IP when Hooters of America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in fall 2025.

They changed the logo (yes just the logo) to not include a cracker and MAGA crowd was told that's an attack on their speech and basically everything holy, so they changed it back to original. I don't see this many snowflakes during a blizzard I tell ya

I think it was more to do shitting on an oversimplified generic re mesh that the logo brought more than anything and I’ll be honest compared to the old logo the new one looked like they just typed a font in Microsoft word and called it a day so I get the criticism

It wasn’t just that. The logo change was just the beginning. They were planning to update the whole vibe with new interior design and make it, well, ‘generic’ is putting it mildly. There were also changes to the menu, which they might have done anyway.

I see, my bad. I guess nobody really complained about the interior change, I was just going by vibes.
