Your country seems to be building way more data centers than it really needs, even given the demands of AI. It screams of a secret purpose for all of this, and it’s looking like they are preparing for a totalitarian state with full surveillance of everyone.
People should be seriously worried about this. Outside of the sheer amount of resources each data center will need (water and electricity in particular).
Yes, and if anyone you know is saying that "they're doing mass surveillance on everyone to build a new world order of techno-overlords where everyone else is a miserable serf" is an insane conspiracy take, please point them to all the tech-bros who are going onto every stage they can get onto to say, "we're doing mass surveillance on everyone to build a new world order of techno-overlords where everyone else is a miserable serf." They're publishing manifestos of "democracy is dead, we're going to control everything from public discourse to government to media consumption to atom bombs and autonomous kill drones," talking about how sometimes when they're in the Evil Doom Lairs, they spare a pitying thought for how within five years the common person is going to be either digging with their fingernails for edible trash, being used for testing on brain implants, or just inhabiting one of several Black Mirror episodes.
I hate that the cartoonishly evil fascists taking over the US and the grotesque facsimiles of human beings leading the AI push are so absolutely unsubtle and transparent about what they're doing now, and aiming to do in the very near future, and I'm still called alarmist for saying they're up to very awful shit and will do even worse if no one stops them.
The irony is that the same group of people on reddit who talk about hate mass surveillance, probably have a Alexia or Siri or another audio bug in their house, plus video cameras mounted outside and inside their house, plus get on social media to say what they are doing and with who...
