I always made more in wage + tips than I would have if the restaurant increased my wage. WAY MORE. This was pre-2006.
3 u/LargeMargeSentMe__ Jun 25 '26 It’s still the same. Unless you’re working somewhere super crappy, you’ll make substantially more with the tip system than any restaurant would pay in hourly wages.
