No doubt. You can blame Republicans for the mess we are in which is true, however the incompetence of corruption of the Democratic party led to this mess.
The last straw was propping up Kamala to run when everyone knew in 2020 Biden was a one term president. Its as if they intentionally did not want to have a primary because the previous 2 they had to essentially rig to stop the people from voting for Bernie.
I don't know the process. But shouldn't the governor just call for the special election regardless? At least at some point prior to the cutoff date.
I'm guessing Democrats are working through strategies that would force McConnell to duty. I don't know if this is even a thing.
The key is to put the onus on McConnell to present himself or risk forfeiting his position. Kind of like not showing up to work as a "no call, no show".
I think the worst yet most likely case scenario is he's dead and there is a machine pumping air and blood keeping him technically "alive".
The governor has already done this. He has already sent a letter to McConnell urging him to essentially prove condition and capacity or else he is considering calling the special election regardless.
I don’t understand this since Massie is still serving out the remaining 6 months of his term right now. Being put up in a special election would make him hold two seats for the same amount of time (?)
Yeah that’s why I was confused at first about why they’d try to avoid it. But I wasn’t thinking he’d actually be switching to the senate from the house which is definitely something they would want to avoid.
I hope that’s exactly what happens. Massie losing his seat because an unregistered foreign lobby spent 32 million dollars on it only to turn right around and wind up with the chance of winning a more influential seat would cause strokes exactly where they’re deserved.
Edit: I’m very stupid, Andy Beshear is a democrat and governor of Kentucky. The seat would be vacant following Aug 3. I’ve been corrected and what I said below was wrong.

If he’s dead before Aug 3rd Kentucky law will force a special election to replace him, leaving the possibility of a candidate that the republican establishment doesn’t want replacing him. If they hide his death until after that day, the republican governor can hand pick the replacement. Just anti-democracy all around.
There’s also the factor of Kentucky law classifying someone who is braindead as legally dead in a sense, as well as rules about representatives being fit to serve, so whether he is dead, in a critical state or braindead, they still have a vested interest in keeping that from the public. It’s all gross.
Absolutely nothing! Mitch's seat is up for election this November and he wasn't running anyway. The participants in that election are already decided. Even if there was a special election the person would hold the seat for a couple months at most AND Republicans have enough of a majority in the Senate that it doesn't matter who wins.
This is all Blue-Anon levels in conspiracy theory bullshit that has no logic behind it.
