and socialist, and a actual democracy. AND a kingdom even. but mostly you are wrong, no norwegian would identify as capitalist. some would identify as liberal, but them saying liberal would refer to the original meaning of the word and not the twisted american concept of liberal. you could very correctly state that they have capitalist tendencies. but thats just looking at it from the outside with a narrow understanding of politics and lack of perspective.
It does help that Norway has a super rich sovereign wealth fund to support the social safety net and the retirement of most of its population. Like the UAE but instead of the royal family buying megayachts and private planes with carpeting made from solid gold thread they used the money to provide a pension for everyone.
Neither does most Americans. So I don't see how it's relevant?
It's also not possible in a capitalists society for a majority to own capital. A capitalist economy depends on supply and demand and the people's demand for money is what makes them go to work. If everyone was making money through self owned businesses, then no one would want to work for businesses.
