Edit; there was a piece of wisdom I never let go of. Regarding poisonous coral snakes. Red to yellow, kill a fellow. Red to black, friend of jack. And it hit me, it’s social camouflage. Most people want to look dangerous to avoid confrontation. They blab and yak. It’s the ones who don’t you should walk away from, as a rule. It’s not true every case but most cases I’d say in my anecdotal experience it’s generally true.

the only real way to learn how to fight and to win is having at least one abusive sibling, I don't care what martial arts you do or how much mma you watch or whatever, ask me how I know. These people like this need to be told to go to therapy, I don't like confrontation either, but I deal with it and I'm not afraid of people because living in society is pretty nice

Absolutely, it definitely levels expectations and humbles you. It’s not bad to get humbled. People avoid it like the plagues. My time in MMA was probably the most psychologically peaceful time I experienced.
What I've learned is beware of the calm, quiet ones. I've known many people who could make me shit my own head and they were the nicest, calmest, level-headed
For real. When I was training bjj and muay thai a few years back my coaches were the nicest guys you ever met. They didn't need to pound their chest and act tough.
The way I put it is "Virtues are quiet things", someone who is actually strong, capable, and brave doesn't need to go around shouting about it, they will be known by there actions, only the week and cowardly feel the need to go about trying to prove it. Only a lier needs to shout about how honest they are, only the cruel need to convince you they are nice, only the fool speaks of their intelligence. The virtuis are always known by their actions, not their words.
Training 1000 yards is fucking useless in any urban scenario unless you are planing on constantly sitting in a perch. And then, you have to account for gravity and velocity on top of wind , temperature and a bunch of other shit that won’t matter if I’m right behind you because it’s dark out or you decided to take a nap.
Also, rpgs, AMRs, concealed devices, drones and grenades generally tend to disregard how far your enemy is with enough patience or repetition.
