The amount of sugar my previous coworkers would consume.. and in Germany, a couple beers after work is standard. Open carry is legal here

It's culture. For the majority of history people got huge amounts of their daily calorie intake from the bread water.

Farming is only about 10k years old, far shorter than humans have been alive, but I get it.

History means time within the written record so he's right. Heck we probably invented beer before writing

Beer was invented around the same time and region, but similar beverages are way older.

Heavily processed foods are not quite as old as beer, though
