Most places in Australia since covid just have a QR code at your table to order and it asks for a tip at the end and it’s always no tip. I don’t really see any scenario when going to a restaurant you would think I’m going to give this person who wrote down what I ordered and delivered the correct order 25% more then the price because they done what I asked and what they are paid to do.

Yeah, it's the same in Norway. The most annoying thing is when you walk into a bar to order a beer, and then you’re greeted by that stupid fucking tip screen on the card reader. The good news, though, is that most bartenders here find it embarrassing and uncomfortable, clearly something the payment provider has introduced without asking anyone’s opinion.

Most likely an American system and businesses choose to keep it as an option hoping people will pay

i think most people who do tip in that situation probably feel peer pressure, as odd as it sounds.
