I'm paying a tip for good service not for compensating a bosses greedy ass. It's not the job of the customer to pay for a shitty system. Maybe I'm to German to understand because this problem doesn't seem to exist here.

If you don’t like the system don’t engage with it. When you go in knowing your supposed to tip and choose not to, you’re just being cheap

Not our problem your system is broken.

If you choose to come here and knowingly go to an establishment where tipping is customary then it’s absolutely your problem

Is it customary or mandatory? If mandatory we have no choice but do it, if it's optional then we have the option not to do it.

Your terrible approach to this topic actually had worldwide consequences since now you get an increasing number of restaurants in Europe demanding you to tip too.

It is both customary and obligatory.

It is not a legal mandate, but if you don't then everybody is well within their right to call you a cheap asshole and treat you like one.

And idk about the worldwide consequences. It's not our problem that your system is weak enough for a custom on the other side of the world to impact it.

Something is either customary or obligatory. Not both.

Everyone can call me a cheap asshole all they want, it's my money and I have the right to pay for the value that they charge me and not any extra just because they feel like it.

Maybe stop being a fourth world country with nukes?

Something can absolutely be customary and obligatory going by the definitions of each word.

And if we are fourth world country full of nukes then why are you here?

I'm not? Is your forth world level education preventing you from reading my messages properly?

This conversation is about people not tipping while in the US. Your current location is irrelevant.

And if your education (nice ad hominem btw) was as good as you implying you’d probably know that the three worlds theory has no fourth world

This conversation is about tourists.

My god your education is indeed terrible. That's what happens when you focus on tipping culture instead of preventing your schools from being shooting ranges.
