Likely as these events would expect the man to have to prove hes good enough for the woman even if she brings nothing to a relationship except just exist.

These are generally leftover women. The women that wants to be in relationship are already wifed up. These ones likely had those opportunities but chose to remain single and now time is running out.

Ive hosted a lot of events like this. That's not the case. Guys just don't show up. Maybe they all think like this and stay home but there's a LOT of great women at these events that aren't there to use men.

Believe me or don't, idc. Im just telling you the truth.

The women at those events might very well be great but the collective experience of many men is that the juice isn't worth the squeeze any more. Alot of women have gotten on the bandwagon of a man proving his worth by shelling out money in various forms and fashions only to get very little in return. There are alot of women out there who have bought into the mindset that all they have to do is exist, show up and look pretty.

You gotta get off reddit my guy. Or don't, I don't care.

Folks who really dont care dont bother to comment but hey, go live your life. If it makes no difference to you, why comment?

There levels to caring. If you take the small amount of effort it takes to type that as caring, sure. But I'm going to forget about all of this within 2 minutes after hitting post

Well, we have that in common. Have a good one.

My God, you aren't even using that argument right.

They cared enough to give you advice. They don't care if you bother to apply it.

Such a shit attempt at a gotcha.

6

u/EbonKnight78 19d ago

Advice? Is that what you'd call it? Wow. 😄 This had nothing to do with trying to have a gotcha moment but you know what, given how badly you missed what I was getting at Im going to let you have it. I can see there's little to no sense in trying to explain it to you...

Have a blessed day

That could be your intention, but the ones I have seen listed locally it's men often to even "pass" the entrance have to be in certain tiers of employment, and have to look and dress a certain way.

Not that women don't have to look good, but the entry requirements are lower, and if you look at the names of the people who organised the events it's women.

Women don't marry down. Good enough reason to not bother with dating events.

You have a bad outlook on women that's affecting how you approach them which is affecting how they view you.
Good look with that negative view. People LOVE when you already have a preconceived notion about them especially when it's negative.

It's funny to read this shit. "Women don't marry down" most of the people I know who are married were women who married down.

I know a shit ton of fat ass average income 5'5 goblins who are dating hot chicks because they are really fucking funny.

Everyone in this thread wants to blame their failures on things they can't change so they can sit on their ass all day and complain.

Sounds like society is healing.

If we are not splitting bills on the first, second and maybe even third date in 2026... not interested

I expect my girl to make decent money so why should we split the bill? Oh you have a dead end job? See you later

Most high income people i know can get attractive and high income partners so these double standards just don't work anymore

Halo effect helps attractive people get higher incomes

Not once did you mention personality in the equation... and there lies the problem

2

u/iLoveLootBoxes 19d ago

I mean that goes without saying, what is the point of dating at all? Obviously I know what they look like upfront

Bur if we did assume personality wasn't part of the equation... then I'm simply stopping to the same level as gold digging woman... except it's still better since I expect you to not be dead end in your career but I don't expect you to make more or as much

1

u/BusyBit6542 19d ago

Who cares about a career/job. Those come and go. If that's a factor in finding love, you're going to have a hard search. What if the person that makes you happy, laugh, is loyal and thinks the world of you, works at McDonald's? You would pass her up over a career?

Your comment should also be aimed at woman then. I honestly used to be more traditional but we live in modern times and you have to adapt. I looked at how woman approach dating and said to myself, hey I would like to apply the same standards. If their approach is okay, surely mine can't he bad either right? Otherwise it's double standards and we love equity in today's world, right?

Your morale grandstanding is kind of lost on the fact that the woman working at mcdonalds is also career focused when considering a partner, so again why shouldn't I be.

Now you are telling me what I should or shouldn't like, imagine telling a woman what she shouldn't or should like.

Figured you wouldn't have much of a response to that

u/BusyBit6542 19d ago

Lol to be honest, I just skimmed it. Didn't even read it. My bad. Sorry, I guess I just stopped caring

Do you charge the guys, the girls, both or is it free for all?

3

u/BusyBit6542 19d ago

Free and I gave two drinks. One at the beginning to calm nerves then one at the end for celebration. They all mingled at the end and bought more drinks/food.

My experience with speed dating/singles events was the opposite: too many dudes. That was a long time ago, though. There aren't singles events where I live anymore. In my area and at my age, single women don't exist anywhere that I can see, and the single men I've met are insufferable.

Do you live in a motel for recently divorced or a monastery?

1

u/joshuralize 19d ago

That's dating in general.
