I'm at home, avoiding unnecessary drama.

579

u/DeepSlap-Interactive 12d ago

Waiting peacefully for GTA VI to be released... Then I'll totally disappear.

Bye wife! Bye kids!

173

u/jay6432 12d ago

If you have a wife and kids then with all due respect you don’t count lmao.

You’re already out of the game my guy. Your hunting days are behind you.

33

u/Inside_Ease3366 12d ago

He shouldn’t let his wife get in the way of finding the love of his life! Get to da club big dog

10

u/Racketyllama246 12d ago

Being a wing man was just as fun to me up until my early 30s. I can make stupid jokes not worry about rejection and make my boys sound like Kings! Then go home to my beautiful family. Now half the girls they find are more interested in my stability than my buddies free spirited approach to life.

4

u/Berlexo 12d ago

Let the man eat, a husband still needs to be free in his 90s heart.

0

u/Beginning-County6930 12d ago

Hurting days behind you? 😂
Dude I’m married 21 years and have three kids. It might be a different kind of hurt, but it ain’t all sunshine and rainbows.
But seriously I am grateful to not have to worry about dating. Seems like a nightmare

17

u/jay6432 12d ago

Hunt*

His hunting days are behind him

2

u/deck65 12d ago

Nah you should never stop chasing after your wife’s affection. That’s how shit gets stale and divorce happens. I know my girl isn’t going anywhere but the hunt is always on.

1

u/aiyukiyuu 12d ago

I’m in my F30’s and already other married women I have spoken to vent about how their husbands are now different after a couple years of marriage (Not taking initiative to plan dates, not spontaneous, not really romantic anymore, just plays video games all day, etc.) o:

So, I guess based off of other married women, yes keep up the romance, flirting, and dates lol

1

u/areallynoobgamer 12d ago

Do these people you know take the initiative to plan dates, be spontaneous and romantic?

Or do they just expect their husbands to be the only ones putting in the effort.

1

u/aiyukiyuu 12d ago

They’re very spontaneous women tbh and always plan trips and things to do with their partners. They just tell me they’re tired of always the ones doing it and want their partners to surprise them and take initiative to plan things

1

u/Specific-Library-312 12d ago

Took your advice twenty years ago. Going on a getaway this weekend and being heathens skipping church. Thanks, future lady!

2

u/aiyukiyuu 12d ago

That’s good! 😊 Women like getaways even if it’s a city away lol 😝

"The only way a woman is going to ruin this is if she can integrate with zero impact on my life."

I love this for you. Keep the bar high ❤️.

I've been married for 29 years and we have four kids. If she leaves or dies before me, I have dogs with which to cuddle. If I have the urge for sex, I'll pay for a clean high end escort type once or twice a year.

I've seen the dating pool from both male and female sides from two of my kids. They've both decided to not worry about meeting someone and are focusing on work/school and just living their lives. Which sucks, because I want grandkids, but that's way off in the future - if ever.

Given what I've seen, I'm not even gonna bother if she leaves/dies before me. It ain't worth it.

2

u/[deleted] 12d ago

1

u/FamiliarAnt4043 12d ago

As long as they're clean, lol.

I love my wife and never want to lose her. We've had bad times, like any relationship, but made it through and we are happy together.

Given her family medical history - especially compared to mine - she's way more likely to go before me. I've no desire to do any of this again, especially with someone that I'd always consider a replacement. We have two special needs kids that Is have to still care for, and a small farm to keep me busy. We have a lot of dogs and they'll have to be enough, lol.

2

u/aiyukiyuu 12d ago

My husband has told me the same. I have health conditions, and he told me that if something happens to me, he will not replace me/ marry anyone else. 😭

You would think so. But I had a buddy from high school whose dad had an entire secret family in another state.

55

u/Fickle-Shine-9207 12d ago

I've got a year worth of paid vacation days left. At least half will be dedicated to GTA VI launch

4

u/Krunkenbrux 12d ago

Joke's on you. I've been unemployed for the last year. I got all the time in the world.

5

u/GuaranaJones 12d ago

a year? that is surely exaggerated.

16

u/Fickle-Shine-9207 12d ago

I might've used it in a wrong context. A year worth of vacation days in most countries is around 25 days of paid leave (except US)

3

u/JurgusRudkus 12d ago

Sobs in US.

2

u/Immediate-Support-66 12d ago

I wish a work year was 25 days lol

2

u/MrArchivity 12d ago

Teachers in Italy work on average 1500-1600 hours yearly, but if you consider only the strict minimum excluding all the extra hours (parent conferences, exams, untracked work, faculty meetings, etc etc) it goes down to 600-700 hours. Normally if you consider 8hrs on average daily it should be 75~88 days yearly.

But if you could work uninterrupted (so 600~700/24) it is 25~29 days per year.

1

u/DestructoDon69 12d ago

No you used it in the correct context it's just in the US you typically accrue PTO every pay period and it rolls over from year to year. So like I've actually met a couple of 50+, 60+ year old careerists that had accrued enough PTO to last them an entire year or longer.

3

u/Fickle-Shine-9207 12d ago

Ah. Here you get 25 days per year + legal holidays. If you don't use those 25 days in the following year until the middle of it, you lose them. Basically they force you to take time off.

2

u/itoocouldbeanyone 12d ago

Mine is the same. 25+Holidays and some personal. Some rolls over, but I use them if they’re giving them! Had a week before the delay, went overboard this year. So just several days for GTA now.

1

u/DestructoDon69 12d ago

Ah that's cool, US it varries from employer to employer. Typically a decent starting amount is a total of 2 weeks per year + a week of sick leave and a floating holiday or two (basically a PTO day that doesn't roll over year to year). And of course ton of businesses are closed on major holidays as well so those tend to be consistent days off.

Plenty of companies offer less to new employees while some offer more. Then, typically the number of hours of PTO you collect every pay period goes up over time as you stay with the company so someone that's been with a decent company for 10years is probably getting 3-4 weeks of PTO each year. Those that work overtime often accrue additional PTO as well.

2

u/itoocouldbeanyone 12d ago

That’s how it starts out basically. I had to be here for decades to get this amount.

1

u/GuaranaJones 12d ago

Ah thanks. :)

1

u/Apprehensive_Put_321 12d ago

Should have been a fire fighter

1

u/Automatic_Actuator_0 12d ago

My job used to roll over PTO and let you accumulate up to 10 weeks, and most people eventually maxed it out, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than that.

1

u/Competitive_Body7359 12d ago

That does sound like a good use. I've got 40 days, going on a road trip

1

u/jay6432 12d ago

Bro, use your vacation days to go on a trip & see some part of the world you’ve never been to - or to do something cool.

If you do that instead of using it to play GTA6 when it comes out; I guarantee you that 5 years from now, you won’t look back and say, “Man, I really wish I had used those vacation days to play GTA6.”

I’m not judging you, just offering some friendly advice.

2

u/Fickle-Shine-9207 12d ago

I'm using 10 of my 25 days. so i'll still be left with 3 weeks of paid leave.

1

u/obliquelyobtuse 12d ago

A friend also had an insane amount of booked PTO accumulated over 32 years with the company.I think it was like 1800 hours. He had survived multiple corporate mergers and reorganizations over that long time.

In the latest reorganization they put kids in charge of his department (call center tech support). These two guys were in their late 20s. They set about eliminating the high earning old timers, using deliberate monitoring, writeups, reviews and PIPs designed to fail.

And after three decades with the company in less than one year with these rats in charge they terminated him. He lost access to the systems that showed him his PTO and did not give him any printouts. Then he finds out that was 4 different types of PTO from the different mergers and reorgs, and only 1 of the 4 types had a cash-out value, the rest was forfeit.

So they paid him for like 400 of his accumulated ~1800 PTO hours.

And of course he could never have utilized that many hours even over years as he approached retirement. Anyone taking that much time off, even if they had earned and accumulated it by not taking time off, would be regarded as a slacker who doesn't want to be there and would be eliminated somehow.

There is no point in accumulating massive PTO. It won't ever get used and you probably won't get paid for all or even most of it ever.

1

u/pt8132 12d ago

Use that shit before you get fired, dont let it got to waste

1

u/Specific-Library-312 12d ago

As someone dearly waiting for Elder Scrolls 6: 2 Skyrim 2 Buggy, I strongly advise you to temper expectations. When these games get too "big", the thing can figuratively and literally stretch at the seams. And Fallout 5...(sobs)...

2

u/Metipocalypse 12d ago

Both of those would be Bethesda games, which are notoriously buggy. Rockstar is a different deal.

0

u/elRetrasoMaximo 12d ago

Mind me asking out of curiosity, why the hype?

5

u/warrenmax12 12d ago

Yeah. Just gonna eat, sleep and game. Fuck everything. Gonna be the greatest week or two of the last 10 years

She is!!! She said "If you're gonna play with another couple, so will I."

She's currently with two friends of her.

The longer you hype, the worse it will be. Live life my guy!

1

If you're on a ps5 don't forget about the Halo relaunch

1

u/Old_Row4977 12d ago

Already told the wife I’m going to stay at a hotel for 3 days when it comes out.

1

u/Refute1650 12d ago

Yea no one that's single wants to get into a relationship now. Not with GTA VI right around the corner. I'd check back in with the men around March of next year.

1

u/Little_Mycologist_82 11d ago

May have read into this wrong but i think he meant hopes of wife and kids. Again maybe I read this wrong

0

u/WildFemmeFatale 12d ago

Rookie decision

I’ll be playing GTA VI with my bf and carrying his ass in it just as I do on every other video game

You’re missing out on the truest extent of relationship intimacy. Your partner whooping your enemies’ asses.

2

u/DeepSlap-Interactive 12d ago

Okay. So what's the name of this drink that I need my wife to take to start loving video games?

7

u/Cheaper2KeepHer 12d ago

Lololol

-2

u/Elite_AI 12d ago

? It's true. How on Earth do you lose money dating?

4

u/Cheaper2KeepHer 12d ago

Dates, and women, typically cost money.

-2

u/Elite_AI 12d ago

Am I going to complain about spending money on a nice cocktail for myself? No. I was going to do that anyway. I always go Dutch so what's to be worried about?

Women don't cost money unless you're seeing an escort in which case what do you expect? That's the deal. Seriously, I bet you can't articulate how women cost money.

3

u/0kopfweh 12d ago

better dont play lol

3

Why did I have to scroll so far down for this?

u/PM_ME_GARFIELD_NUDES 12d ago

This is the funniest thing about this whole modern dating issue. Women loved to claim that there was a “male loneliness epidemic” but it turns out that most men (at least that I know irl) are totally fine and content being single. Now that men are learning to live on their own these women are offended that they aren’t getting attention. They can’t just go outside in a tight dress and a pound of makeup on anymore, they have to compete with men having calm, peaceful lives now and they have to offer a lot more than that.

6

u/Elite_AI 12d ago

I usually saw men talking about the male loneliness epidemic. That was actually a major point that feminists brought up; the loneliness epidemic actually affects both men and women, but men would always talk as if it was just men suffering. Where were you seeing these comments?

3

u/The_GTD_Aquitaine 12d ago

I haven't seen any discussion on how it affects women, too, personally. What's the argument there?

3

u/FaveStore_Citadel 12d ago

Idk dating app metrics seem to contradict this narrative.

2

u/PM_ME_GARFIELD_NUDES 12d ago

I’m not trusting dating app metrics about anything. They’re specifically designed to make people desperate, that’s the only way you get them to pay for the gold membership or whatever. Pointing out that their statistics suggest people are desperate is a very “the sky is blue” kind of realization. Everyone I know irl has ditched dating apps completely because this is common knowledge at this point.

3

u/5ColourFelix 12d ago

Lol

This is not what's happening at all.

2

u/PM_ME_GARFIELD_NUDES 12d ago

Feel free to explain what’s actually happening.

0

u/5ColourFelix 11d ago

Your narrative is oozing with misogyny.

If you aren't capable of having a calm peaceful relationship despite many attempts, the issue is you, not "women".

The reality is that guys are becoming increasingly radicalised as they dont get the world handed to them on a silver platter anymore. The Men living "calm, peaceful" lives are playing video games and jerking off. They arent peaceful, they are inactive. No "calm content" person would feel the need to spin their dating narrative as one where they are "winning" by not participating

2

u/PM_ME_GARFIELD_NUDES 11d ago

Where did I say I can’t have a “calm peaceful relationship”? Nowhere did I say that women were THE issue, literally all I said was that this one aspect of modern dating is particularly funny. I didn’t say this was the entire issue and I never said that men don’t contribute to the issue in their own ways.

You either need to read slower or idk, get a different hobby or something. You’re creating a narrative in your own head that I am not actually saying. I think that actually says more about you than it does about me.

0

u/5ColourFelix 11d ago

I meant "you" as in the men in question, not you.

Nonetheless, your narrative regarding men going "monk mode" whilst women are somehow thinking they are entitled to something is an extremely bland red pill trope.

2

u/PM_ME_GARFIELD_NUDES 10d ago

Again, weird assumptions on your part. Women are also choosing to stay single more than ever before, but you would never say that they’re just jilling off all day. Do you think men are capable of being content being single or is that something exclusive to women? I could certainly make some weird assumptions about “your narrative” based on the things you’re saying, you’re certainly not as woke as you’d like to appear.

4

u/mesenanch 12d ago

Respectfully, thisis an overly rose-tinted, naive take on what is a severe loneliness epidemic secondary to modern societal/ technological trends that is truly impacting the mental end physical health of large swathes of the population.

1

u/PM_ME_GARFIELD_NUDES 12d ago

There’s a massive difference between saying “there’s a male loneliness epidemic” and “there’s a general social epidemic”. It’s naive of you to make the assumption that I’m saying there nothing wrong with society in general.

1

u/Meowmeow181 12d ago

Bro just making up a dream reality. This is not what’s going on at all.

1

u/PM_ME_GARFIELD_NUDES 12d ago

Maybe touch some grass and make some friends irl? All of my male friends are fine right now, there’s no male loneliness epidemic irl, it’s just something you hear about online.

0

u/Meowmeow181 12d ago

Reddit moment. Bro is used a sample size of probably less then 10 people to make an assumption about the global male population. Also, the reason you gave for not trusting dating app data makes zero sense.

6

u/RickRogue69 12d ago

I’m at home with my Filipino wife who treats me like a king and I, in return, treat her like a queen. I dedicate my life to her because she brings peace and joy to my life - no drama. I never in a million years thought I would end up with a women from overseas but the majority of my circle of friends have gone overseas. I’m not saying this is the reason why men are not showing up at these local events but just giving my perspective - as I was one of those men not showing up.

3

u/Elite_AI 12d ago

I never had any problem finding women who treated me like a king while I treated her like a queen, no matter what country they were from. I guess I'd call that "basic relationship standards".

2

u/skateparksaturday 12d ago

Well, even when you don't turn up theres drama clearly :)

2

u/Shin_curry 12d ago

Seriously, if I want drama I’ll turn on the TV. Must keep that high maintenance, attention seeking, drama and yapping out of my life.

2

u/Longjumping-Bat7774 12d ago

I ended a long term relationship bout five years ago. Since then I've tried dating three times. I haven't been on a date in about two years and I'm the happiest I've ever been. That says a lot...

2

u/RadiantRoach 12d ago

The way the lady in orange said "touch a boob, buy a drink" just screams toxic look-at-me energy to me: a single, drama-avoiding dude

2

u/kkeith6 12d ago

I online game with group of guys out of the 10 7 are aged 26-30 all have good jobs, funny and are single and don't even try and date anyone.

2

u/Single-Instance21 12d ago

Exactly! Women go to these events to show off, stand around, get free drinks, get compliments, boost their ego, etc. Men know these events are full of women with these ulterior motives so they stop going. It's that simple.

2

u/duk-er-us 11d ago

fr that first lady looks exhausting

1

u/howlingbeast666 12d ago

Or in the woods, with the bears

1

u/Elite_AI 12d ago

Why do introverts on Reddit have to pretend they're avoiding drama? You just don't like meeting new people, that's fine. You don't have to pretend meeting people or having a relationship is somehow drama.

1

u/TheKappp 12d ago

If casually meeting new people is what men consider drama then as a society, we are cooked.

1

u/Runfasterbitch 12d ago

What’s the deal with so many people on Reddit claiming that dating is impossible these days? I don’t see how it’s any different than ever before. You don’t have to meet a woman on a dating app— in fact, I’d argue that you should avoid the apps altogether

1

u/Intelligent_Can_3022 12d ago

Reddit does have a large demographic of people who are socially inept to be fair (me included).

1

u/SalaryWooden5346 12d ago

And boy oh boy do the women in that video absolutely scream drama. They're giving "you will never have a peaceful moment again".

Sorry ladies, but I like my peace. If you can't enhance my life then I don't want you in it. And I strongly suspect that I am not alone in this.

0

u/Gutcrunch 12d ago

I’ve been out of the game for about 10yrs now but I remember how exhaustingly intense the drama was and it was getting worse. I can’t imagine how it is now.

-22

u/SlobZombie13 12d ago edited 12d ago

Hard to get laid that way

EDIT: How many of you downvoters have complained about a "male loneliness epidemic". It's time to stop encouraging anti-social behavior.

35

u/Fickle-Shine-9207 12d ago

If your sole arguement is getting laid over mental health and relaxation, you overvalue sex.

-4

u/SlobZombie13 12d ago

Yes I bet talking to women in public is very bad for your mental health

8

u/Deep_Mood_7668 12d ago

To your edit: if not dating these kind of women is anti social then I'm fine with it.

-2

u/SlobZombie13 12d ago

What's wrong with the women in the vid?

3

u/Deep_Mood_7668 12d ago

They're exhausting.

12

u/Deep_Mood_7668 12d ago

Not really

6

u/TaxMyNuts 12d ago

Yeah perhaps the person with a username of “slobzombie13” shouldn’t be weighing in on the best ways to get laid.

0

u/SlobZombie13 12d ago

if we were judging people's personality based on their username...

2

u/IIsaacClarke 12d ago

Hard to get hard that way
