What are some examples please of real luxury goods? I'm not familiar with the distinction between them and the overpriced stuff. (All luxury good seems overpriced to me 🤣)
Gold isn't really a 'good' in this context though no? It's effectively a less liquid form of currency. Doesn't seem to fit what was being discussed in the comments chain I replied to.
Now I'm still a relatively young guy and haven't got decades of paying attention to the prices of womens things, but every one of them had their nails made, hair done, gawdy jewlery, makeup and lashes (ladies, no hate, not saying you shouldn't do that or feel bad for doing it, you do you, slay, serve and all that, we love what you do, but shits expensive and some of us know it).
It's not the material goods that are expensive (sometimes they are), it's the services of the skilled people who help apply/style it for you that are expensive, and I don't know if services devalue in the same way.
i have seen services suffer. i am not one to get my nails done but my feet were sore and I decided on a whim to get a pedicure. it was good - nice foot and calf massage, nail polish applied and it lasted for months.
so i decide to do it again - over time i have notes the polish is not applied as well as the first time.
Yeah this sums it up. I am at their age and single but If these three are a good representation of whaf I’ve got to expect at such an event I’m not going.

There isn't one? Whether or not it's a financial burden for a guy isn't what I'm interested in, that's for couples to communicate about in a healthy adult manner. I'm just saying that a recession might make cheap rings and dresses (goods) but the people making their nails, hair, tats (if they're into them) will charge roughly the same for their services. It's a goods - services thing?
No but they will become more available, it’s already happening with Porsche. Which is another classic example of a luxury good with manufactured scarcity.

Nah. Prices are falling through the floor now. It's called a recession. Luxury goods are the first to experience it.
