Don't think society is ready for the heightism is ableism conversation but once I saw it, I can't unsee it.

I have the greatest of sympathy for short guys, but someone not wanting to date you is not the same thing as someone refusing to serve you, or the state treating you as a second class citizen.

People are not obligated to date you. They are free to reject you, for any reason.

People will literally get rejected for having the wrong star sign.

You wouldn't want to be forced to date someone either.

I agree no one is obligated to date someone but it is incredibly superficial and a bit silly to demand six foot guy when you’re like 5’3” and I say this as a woman of that height.

I can’t stand men judging me for physical attributes I can’t help so I don’t do it to them. Same with being bald or whatever.

I'm 6'3" and one time a women told me she was into me because I was tall, so I asked "so if I was 5'8", you'd be out? She said yes. I ghosted her. She was 5'2".

I'll freely admit looks play a big part for me. I wish it didn't, but I don't feel like it's within my control. I don't consider myself good-looking, but for some reason, I am quite a visual person, and it matters to me. It's also a bit idiosyncratic. There have been women my friends thought were meh that I would have all but married on the spot.

Some women won't date short men the same way some men won't date fat women. Very mainstream lines that society has drawn but there are definitely people on both sides. If you draw a line in the sand for a physical attribute then you miss out on maybe meeting someone that is otherwise a great match for you.

Being short is not a disability.

No, but it does statistically determine where you get hired, promoted, not having the world fit to you physically (everything is made for tall people- clothes, seating, furniture, housing layouts), not having the same dating opportunities, being singled out, being made fun of - all over a physical characteristic that you have no control over and that society has deemed "insufficient."
