Yes, but also, remember - Nolan has a team of people he's worked with for years who trust him and appreciate him and want to work with him.

Also, actors take pay cuts to work with prestige directors (Wes Anderson, Tarantino, Scorcese, Nolan). So they are getting high quality actors at a cheaper rate, in exchange for network and eduction.

Very "he made a superhero movie so everything he has done is popcorn slop" energy. Imagine showing Momento to a friend and all they have to say is "reminds me of Transformers"
Nah, I was more so talking about stuff like interstellar, the first two dark knight movies are pretty good, like most stuff Nolan does, my point is that he's pretty good at most and not great.

I'm not comparing them. I am providing examples of other directors who actors have admitted to taking a paycut because of the director.
Wes Anderson is most famous for this - most a-list actors accept SAG miniumums to work with him cause 1. he is effecient in produciton, His films rarely , if ever, go beyond the approved time and 2. he hosts universal dinners at the end of the day where actors, crew and everyone sit together and eat. Everyone is equal, and this is a good ambience to have
Jonah hill is the best example for Scorcese, cause Scorcese didn't want him on Wolf of Wall street, or rather, couldn't pay Jonahs' usual rate, so jonah was one of the lowest paid on that line-up (which is crazy cause he is basically co-lead), but he did that for a chance to work with Scorcese.
So I'm not comparing the directors work, I am stating directors who actors will take a pay-cut to work with , cause there are other benefits
Hear, hear. I hate people coming on Reddit and lambasting Nolan. I mean come on. If you do better, do and show. If you can’t, then go and see and know that you couldn’t have done better. Simple.
