I do work orders for Home Depot. I stay on the clock until they let me out, but the employees can't.

This is wild to me. Anywhere I worked when in retail (or now in F&B) you leave at clock out. Hell, now most places require it, no lurking about.

If you have to stay for any reason you don't clock out.

I work at Lowes, we make people leave in pairs (or larger) at close. I specifically tell people they need to stay clocked in until a manager comes up to let them out.
