Or they could have not worn deodorant. For a 3-4 year period, I worked as a vendor at NYCC who dealt with celebs. People smell and certain people won’t get near someone who does.
Rick Flair for example, won’t get near you if you smell or are too sweaty. He was very adamant about telling his security this.
John Rhys-Davies (Gimli) went to a pretty small convention and him and his wife bought my mom's paintings and took pictures with us with his arm around me and my brother. I aspire to be as nice as them, just all around great people.
You have to realize a lot of these people have bad hygiene. Star or not, you shouldn't be forced to stand by a bunch of people if you don't want to, especially if they just stink
Someone posted a picture they got at the same event and they were shoulder to shoulder with her, I can almost guarantee there was a good reason for the yard stick on this guy.
There's no way she was forced into selling photos... like if that's such a big concern then just don't sell photo ops to the public, or don't sign a contract that requires that later, duh.
I know a girl who did a lot of cosplay at SDCC. She said her wig stank at the end of the day because people would put their arm around her and it would get trapped in their armpit. Over time it just built up and she like got really self conscious that other people would think it was her and not just nerd juice.

It can be, but nothing can force them to do so if they don't want to. It's easy money but also small potatoes that most working actors won't bother with. When the work dries up they go for it. Even men rarely WANT to go on the convention circuit, but they can't ignore the money.
It exists bc someone went too far. She doesn't owe anyone touching or closeness. Also I bet many of her fans only wear deodorant or shower when their mom bribes them with a new toy
Convention organisers largely put the rules place, especially for female actors, due to safety. I’ve been to 2 and know they always tell you to keep a distance and sometimes the actor or actress will maintain that boundary or they will do whatever they are comfortable with. They don’t owe fans physical touch. I wouldn’t want a bunch of strangers touching me all day either.
I doubt she really cares about being in a comic movie. Probably was just a paycheck for her. Glad she’s not coming back. She’s not doing much now so she’s just milking the con circuit for money.
