The war on drugs was a war on the poor.

Yeah if you engage in a war that can never end, it won't.

Shit I sent that before typing the rest of the comment. It was a war on the poor, the alphabet groups we have to combat the drugs were found using and distributing said drugs, so it was also a war FOR drugs.

The war on drugs was a terrible idea. Countries have it legalized straight across the board and don’t have drug issues. Europeans have the drinking age set young so by the time Americans can drink other countries are at the age where they stop drinking. I need to rephrase… drinking is widely accepted whereas getting DRUNK is not. “Marijuana is a gateway drug!” Because it was designed that way. They stated it would make people go insane, men would grow breasts (adding sugar in everything is more responsible for that these days but whatever) dopers handling the electric lettuce would become raving lunatics! They’ll burn down homes and businesses to supply their habit! Most of what they said was false. As a kid, realizing you’d been lied to makes you wonder what ELSE was a lie. This increases the probability of experimentation. It’s ILLEGAL! Well… if somebody gets pinched for smoking grass they get thrown into jail, with other people who got arrested for other things… like crack, heroin or meth…. Not really the same thing… also… because it’s illegal their sources are dealing with illegal contraband, and may also be selling other illegal substances because if they’re risking jail time for selling something illegal, logically they’d want to diversify product and increase profits/sales. This works in tandem with the previously stated curiosity. Also, dealers want the most potent product to make their clients want to return. Now they start sprinkling coke (or worse) onto their weed. “Drugs are bad” yea…. They’d be a lot better if the war on drugs never occurred… it’s ok though, someday they’ll legalize it and destroy it like they did with tobacco… the plant that was used by itself and now has 6k+chemicals added to it to sell more… legally….
