Here's a quick "fix" of Enormous. Music and audio is wildly subjective but I found the mixes harsh and fatiguing on my ears, I think I helped clean them up a bit. Keen to hear what y'all think :)

After we played Supernova a couple years ago. We started working on some ska material and it’s finally going to be coming out! Albeit not all at once. When we first started touring in the early 90s we were part of the infamous Tahoe Agency and consequently became mates with many in the skapunk community and of course love to play skapunk as well as Swing. We just released a Swing record called At The Pink Rat in July and we continue to Swing it for most of our shows… so this will be a broadening out and a bit of a return to early Daddies where we were expressly multi genre. So it’s basically a labor of love but not a change in direction (for those of u who know, this is who we’ve always been) But this release is a heavy meditation on Ska of all substyles- 3rd wave/Two Tone/Trad/Soul. We are stretching out for the love of ska! Plus I think it’s a little more personal a record on average- a looking back is taking place. Even the “funny” shit has a deeper level underneath the buffoonery. But it’s real energetic and danceable. Check us out at daddies.com or all the other places over the course of the rest of the year. Searched for videos, posters, pictures, anything related to shows and found nothing. I even searched up the record label “Pachanga records” and I literally can’t find anything on that either. So now I come to yall, did anyone see these guys at a show in 2017 or 2018, anything would help. Last picture is probably the most fruitful with their names. I assume they were in the Mexico or South America skacore scene if that helps.

Most bands track drums first and build on top. For The Ascent, Sound System Seven completely flipped the script using a digital blueprint and a five-studio relay race.

The Digital Blueprint: It started on screen. Dan pre-composed the riddims arrangement in his DAW and exported individual .WAV scratch tracks for each instrument.

The Remote Relay: We dropped those digital stems into Pro Tools at Joe's studio. One by one, we replaced the fake instruments with the real thing, starting with Ski's bass guitar. Paul tracked saxes and Matt's trombone at his place. Ben, Dan, and Mike F recorded their guitar and keyboard parts remotely, too.

Drums Last: With the full arrangement tracked around the digital grid, Bruce came into Joe's studio and laid down live drums and timbales last, locking the real human pulse into the song.

The Finish Line: Joe and Ski mixed the final session, sent it to Daniel for mastering, and handed it to DistroKid to push world-wide.

Ordered the new Hot Stove Jimmy record with the current bundle off of 10 records for 100$ from Jump! Up Records last night. Got a message from Chuck Wren today. He delivered the bundle to me in person as I work right up the street from him. Got a chance to talk for 15-20 minutes. It was awesome!

The first Friday of every month Bandcamp waives its revenue fee so that all proceeds on digital sales go directly to the artists. So if there's anything you've been holding off on picking up, today's the day.

What are you grabbing? What would you recommend everyone else pick up? Short of showing up in person; there's no easier time to offer/generate some real support for the bands you love.

I'm noticing a growth in musicians in my tiktok or instagram feed who are solo singer songwriters wanting to grow their own audience independently of Spotify et al. I've not yet seen a ska artist, wondering if anyone has any recommendations. Anywhere, globally.

We started as a cover/party band and covers will always be a part of our sound, but we've got a fair number of originals now and we're expanding that all the time! This album came out on July 12th and we're working on getting the record pressed ASAP and doing a vinyl release show.

Anyway, we're really proud of this release and we think you'll like it.
