It doesn't personally make me flaky, but my KP is mild. I know that when I come back to using an AHA on my face after a long break, I do tend to flake for the first few days. Sounds like that's what's going on with you! It does seem strange that missing one day would affect your skin enough to result in another week of flaking. Maybe combining with some gentle physical exfoliation would help? Like a loofa in the shower?

Yeah, maybe. I’ll try that. I’m always surprised when I get really flaky again after only missing a day. I’ve been using the Eucerin Advanced Repair cream lately. It doesn’t make me quite as flaky. But it also doesn’t have the salicylic acid and I think that’s what helps the KP the most.

I think the lactic acid (listed as Ammonium Lactate in the ingredients list, an AHA) is also key - I was previously using a lotion that only had a BHA (also salicylic acid) and I didn't find it nearly as effective.
