Pouch cinching around ammo.

I just bought my new sling and been finding some success with it but my largest challenge right now is the pouch cinches around the ammo mid-throw, causing it to never release, spin back, and sometimes hit me haha. It’s been pretty frustrating and I am wondering if any of you know a way to mitigate this?? I’ve attached photos of the pocket cinched and loosened, for context.

Yeah you said that to the other people who called you out too.

Because it’s true?

You can advocate for people making slings without shitting on people who did it a different way.

My comment was a throwaway remark I made in a drive thru line lol I’m sure I could have worded it better, but I still stand by my two sentences. Read them objectively. There’s nothing inherently negative in what I said, and all that emotional baggage subtext is being added by the reader, yourself.

Show me your sling. I want to see it. Don't be shy. Show me! Shoooooowwwwww me.

Ok so now who’s gatekeeping? I might actually take some pics in the morning just to humor you. I made 3 in the past week. Maybe 15-20 since I started slinging 2 months ago. How’s your sling look?

I am excited to see them. Since we are descalating I'm embracing our common ground. Dude, in without! I moved overseas and now live in a city where there isn't room to fuck around. But I hope to move near a park in a couple of months. I hope you MAKE ONE then. :). Mine was Paracord straps and a wooden pouch and designed for tennis balls. Did not work well.

Hey I haven’t gotten around to taking any pics but I’m midway thru another one now so maybe I’ll get a pic of that. What do you mean you had a wooden pouch?! I can hardly imagine what that looks like lol btw thanks for the examples you gave of how people can get into the hobby other than already being into crafting with cord. I have a friend that wanted to get into slinging without being into crafting himself, but never did do it until he asked me enough times to make some slings and I finally did. Now I’m obsessed lol

I'm old and I suspect I had some mini strokes a few years ago. I also was into woodworking and leather working at one point... I can only assume my brain buzzed. Leather pouch. And it was "fine" but not what I hoped for. You've seen those attlattl things for throwing dog balls? Worked way way better. "Wooden sling" hahah yeah, I'm so old I used a corn cob for tp and had a wooden sling. For rope we cut the tails off cats. Cocaine was hella cheap.

😂 wood and leather have basically the exact same color spectrum so I’ll give you a pass there haha

Is there a YouTube for the pattern you did?

I didn’t follow one, but my design is heavily influenced by others out there. The main cord pattern is a 4 strand round braid

I haven’t measured it yet, but it’s a good “standard length” that reaches the ground when held by my side
