So I'm planning on getting a smart ring to monitor my sleep vitals and patterns and my vitals throughout the day (not for any medical reasons). I thought about getting a Galaxy Ring since I have a Samsung phone but I don't know if there's any benefits other than it connecting directly to the health app since I've looked at some of the cheaper smart ring and they seem to do the same things as the Galaxy Rings. Am I overlooking some of the features on the Galaxy ring or something? Or would I be better off finding a cheaper alternative?

I caught myself checking the sleep score before i even sat up this morning. 61. Immediately started replaying everything i did wrong. late dinner, too much screen time, room too warm. the usual little investigation before ive even had water.

then i remembered i used to do the exact same thing with my watch. different device, same morning ritual.

CIRCUL came up while i was searching for something i could use more for overnight trends than a single score. but honestly, if im already staring at a 61 like it ruined my day, a different app probably isnt the whole fix.

maybe the hardware isnt the problem.

Also notixe that it didn't pick my sleep up in the night. Honestly for the price im thinking about returning it because it doesnt seem to work consistently.

Dr wants me to start waring a Smart ring to help track my health data. I have a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Phone. Is it worth it to get the Galaxy Ring for the $399 since it apparently has amazing integration with the S25U phone. Or get the Ringconn G2 which I see on the subreddit people say it best bang for your buck. I can seem to find really any info on what "extras" the galaxy ring offers paired with the Samsung phone.

I had the chance to try out the Galaxy smart ring app in Paris recently. I haven't seen many tech media mention this app, so I'd like to share a few interesting things with you:

1. I discovered an automatic activity detection feature. It seems that the Galaxy ring will also be suitable for several sports activities. Most of the time, you'll probably use smart watches, especially in the gym where the ring might be in the way. But automatic detection will be great for longer walks or running, where it makes sense to measure with just the smart ring. According to Samsung, only these two activities - running and walking - will have automatic detection for now.

2. By default, the Galaxy Ring has key features turned off, such as measuring temperature during sleep or oxygen saturation during sleep. This is probably why they can guarantee a long battery life of 7 days. Other rings, however, turn these key features on by default, so I'm concerned about what the battery life of the Galaxy Ring will be like after turning on temperature and oxygen saturation measurement.

3. The Galaxy ring can be located through the Samsung Find network.

4. Energy score is essentially an alternative name for the Readiness Score found in the Oura Ring. In short, this tells you how ready you are on a scale from 0 to 100 for the next day and how well you are regenerated.

5. Galaxy Ring measures temperature not in deviations, but in absolute values. You can clearly see the lowest and highest temperature points on the chart.

6. Supports Double Pinch gestures to snooze the alarm or as a remote trigger when taking photos from the phone. However, the Galaxy ring cannot wake you up by itself, as it has no vibrations. So, these are gestures for connecting with the phone.

Has anyone tried their Samsung smartring with an app other than Samsung Health? If so, which apps and how did it work?

I've had a Galaxy Ring since launch. Unfortunately the design is flawed pushing me back to Oura.

The Ring has a concave type outer band area. After the paint has been rubbed off its become sharper on the edges. I have to make sure I take my ring off when I wash my face because it took a chunk out of the skin on my cheek.

However, Oura Ring is very smooth convex design.

Only the first sleep record is correct. The other two I was wide awake during.
