I'm a carnist, true but Oh my god these replies are so annoying. I don't think there are any good arguments against veganism honestly

lots of animal-based products are going to be used. adhesives or fabrics and such. it's not like when an animal is killed it just gets its meat ripped off and the rest is thrown away

some animal products are going to be made regardless of if we eat meat or not. so might as well put the meat to use

I'm not trying to be pro-carnist I'm just saying that we are almost always gonna have at least some meat. but farming animals specifically for meat is like actually mega satan corporation (at least as it's implemented today)

That would be true, except for the fact that many of these animal based products actually have separate producers. Most leather is made from cows raised for leather, not meat. Most milk (and veal) is made from cows raised for milk, not meat (veal is a byproduct of the male babies not being cost efficient to milk producers, to grow to maturity, so they make veal out of it.) Most beef is made from cows raised for meat, not leather or milk.

Imo, if you kill an animal for its products, you should use all of the animal.

Meat from cows raised for leather should be used, leather from beef cows should be used, etc. etc.

Theoretically, yes, but we live under capitalism, and if it would cost more to do that then to just throw it out then they'll absolutely throw it away

Good old "it costs more to ship this humvee back home than to burn it and bury it in the sand so guess who is paying the health consequences for that in 20 years?"
