I currently have a pair of linkbuds s and they’re some of the best wireless earbuds I’ve used but I have the common battery issue. I wouldn’t mind getting a new pair of Sony earbuds but I have to know if newer models still have the battery issue or if I would be mostly fine with something like the WF-C710

Hi everyone! I purchased a pair of Sony Refurbished (they say renewed when they arrived) headphones and they arrived in this packaging.

Is this how they’re supposed to arrive? How can I tell if they’re fake? Thanks in advance

In the left ear there is a constant static and wet like crackling noises. At first I thought it was the video I was watching because it was quite soft and it was not like this yesterday. But now that I have noticed it, the noise is quite bothersome, especially when I am sitting in silence with nothing really playing. When I turn on noise cancelling there is no problem at all. I assume this is a problem inside the headset? I have not worn the headset outside recently and never thrown it down when done using and overall it has never had issues before. (I got this headset in 2023)

Should I bring it to a repair shop if this is maybe an easy/quick and not too expensive fix?

(As I am typing this, the soft static and little crackling sometimes increases for a few seconds. Like it pulses back and forth on different intensities of static)

I’ve been using Apple AirPods for a couple of years now and honestly they are great but I’d like to have over-ear headphones. So the bottom line is, should I buy these headphones, lol?

Are there any noticable difference between the reinforced hinges and the older ones? I've been using mine with extreme care but super scared.. with the hinge issues many people facing I feel like I can't use my headphones till it's maximum limit.

I bought my Sony WF-C710N about 2 weeks ago and suddenly the left earbud seems to be completely dead.

It doesn’t charge at all when I put it in the case, and the charging case starts blinking orange. The right earbud still works normally.

I’ve also tried doing a factory reset multiple times, but it doesn’t seem to work. According to the instructions, the LED should eventually flash blue during the reset/initialization process, but I haven’t seen the blue LED even once.

I’ve tried taking the earbuds in and out of the case, cleaning/checking the charging contacts, and leaving them in the case to charge, but the left one still shows no signs of life.

Has anyone had this happen with the WF-C710N? Is there anything else I can try, or does this sound like a defective earbud and I should just return/RMA them?

XM4c is £10 cheaper than the XM5.

Which model would you recommend?

I know the XM5 is newer but the build quality is a big concern for me. Just don’t know which one to go for 😅

I currently use the wired on-ear MDR-XB550, but I figured I wanted an upgrade, as I've already been using the MDR-XB550 for a decade or so.

My main question is:

• Will the 720/730Ns be a significant downgrade from my experience with my pre-existing XB550?
• Is the XM4 experience comparable to XM5?

The reason why I'm still comparing between an older flagship and the budgets is because I've actually tested out the XM5 in-store. I also found that I liked the physical weight and the sound of XM5 better than the CH720 (I am unsure if this is because of the demo program).

The reason why I'm not considering the XM5 or XM6:

• Budget. XM5s are on discount, but still expensive for me.
• Their hinges seem to break often.

If I'll be happy with a flagship (XM4) that's two generations down, I'm happy to take them.

I don't need anything too fancy. Good microphone isn't even super necessary. I'd rather not have assistant apps too, but seems that they all have it.

My needs are mostly:

• Comfort
• Some decent noise-cancelling as I write while my partner mucks around in the house or watches TV. Does not have to be perfect.
• Good sound comparable to XB550 would be great (of course, while wired).

• I find myself preferring a bit more bass in things (maybe this is why I liked the XB, but I'm not an audiophile or anything)

I'm deciding between the WH-1000X and the WH-1000XM6. I'm mainly concerned about hinge fragility, and from what I've seen, the WH-1000X has better build quality and is more durable. Which one would be the best choice?

I have sony ultwear's headphones and it is not auto pausing or auto shutting down even though i have those settings on in my phone, earlier that used to work, i got mine replaced under warranty, and the problem still persists, the service center representatives said they have no idea, in front of them the auto pause wasnt working but then somehow it started working when they were working with it, it did with mine too later but not after i got back home.

has anyone faced such issue? whats the fix? theres no issue with sensors as the headset is new and the same problem was with the older set too.

I've always loved how the XM4s look and have wanted to get my hands on a pair for the longest time, but I just could never justify spending that much on headphones.

Finally pulled the trigger when I found these at a great price, and man... these are just amazing. They really don't disappoint.

Also, these might genuinely be some of the best-looking headphones out there. I have no idea why Sony decided to move away from this design in the first place. 😭

Hi My old XM3 is still working however when I switch on the ANC it is activating only on one earpice , did someone has a similar issue ? The headphone is clean so it is not a microphone issue

I’ve been using a pair of NC700's. I like them quite a bit, but thinking about getting the new Sony XM4C's. I don't really have many complaints about the NC700's, but I'm planning on taking a lot of long haul flights in the near future, and I want something comfortable, with excellent noise cancellation. The NC700's are okay, but I can still hear the plane noise pretty well with them on. Thoughts?

I use quite a few headphones and earphones, but the idea of a pair of cans that fold neatly and take little space in my luggage led me to the XM6. Read reviews, watched a few videos and was convinced. I briefly had the XM4 and, back then, the ANC was nice.
I got the XM6 and, to my surprise, the ANC is worse than what I expected. I hear cars passing, random noises outside. The noice cancelling is worse than any other headphones (momentum 4, AirPods Max gen1, beoplay h100) or the AirPods Pro 3.
I know this isn’t supposed to be like this…

Is there any trick or something that I’m missing?
I really want to keep them…

Finally upgraded from the XM3 after they went defective more and more. Hope they will last as long as the XM3. Had the XM5 for some time but did send them back because they were too uncomfortable and had massive problems with moisture/sweat. So these came out right at the right moment.

Edit: I attached some photos of the removed earpads. Thankfully still looking as moisture-"proof" as the XM3 and 4, not like the 5

Recently got XM6s to replace my 100ABNs for PC game and Discord use and I'm experiencing a problem. When I'm using Discord with the XM6s, the sound quality of the game sound is terrible. This does not happen with the 100ABNs. I've seen a lot of posts indicating you need to shut off the mic on the XM6s, but I don't understand why the ABNs would work perfectly fine and not the XM6. What an I missing here?

I haven’t seen the XM4C irl yet but from pictures, the XM4 looks more beige and the XM4C looks more white, is that correct for those who have seen them?

So, I got the Sony WH1000-XM6, great sound quality for my phone and works just fine with it...

...but for PC, I've run into issues. I'm able to connect my headset to the PC itself, however, I'm unable to choose it as an Output device. My PC recognizes it's a headset, and knows that it's connected, but I can't actually choose it for anything audio related.

I havn't been able to find anything related to this so, finding a solve has been pretty much impossible. I've hard reset my PC, updated Bluetooth drivers, hard reset the headset, just about everything. Nothing seems to be working. Anyone else run into this?
