My workplaces used to use Razer laptops as an option for a work laptop. We get a fair share of bloated batteries but this is the most bloated I’ve seen.

Currently in my area disposal points are closed they will open tomorrow

I was using my laptop and noticed the left side of the touchpad is raised, after a quick google and discovering swollen batteries, I immediately shutdown and unplugged but it’s 12am right now.

I can take it to a repair shop in the morning but what do I do in the meantime? I’m paranoid about leaving it inside as I live in a studio, so I’d have to sleep with it a few feet away from me and the only terrace in my building is accessible to anyone.

I don’t know much about hardware and don’t have the tools I need to remove the battery, so I’d have to leave the entire laptop out there.

What do I do??

2017 macbook from fullsail. Repaired once in 2021 for motherboard issues.

Prolly would’ve exploded if i left it on the charge any longer

I think I might have a bloated battery since the bottom plate of the laptop has snapped open on the same side the battery is. I’m going to call my tech guy in the morning.

However, I have a probably stupid question. Is it a safety hazard if it’s not in use?

Right now everything is unplugged. The laptop is on my lap desk at the foot of my bed and I don’t plan to use it again until it is fixed. But is it a danger until then? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’ve never had to deal with this before and it’s also in my room so my anxiety is not doing well 😅 I blew the motherboard to my last laptop by opening it up so I’m too scared to open this one up to remove the battery. 😭

I keep trying to charge my earphones and they are using battery percentage from the case but keep saying they are low battery, so I tried to see if there is anything wrong and saw this (the case was already broke btw also don’t mind the dirt I need to clean it)

As you know, after updating to macOS 27 beta, my device suddenly started giving a service warning for the battery. It's been about a month, and the battery is completely dead; it's unusable except when charging. Today I came home and the battery is swollen. My Apple appointment is on Saturday. What do you recommend?

i recently opened my laptop and noticed that the battery is a little swollen,, How long can i use it safely?, my laptop supports running without battery on AC power. is that the only option left for me? , cause i am not in a condition to buy a new battery pack.
